A slice read only by lending consumers (string equality and ordering,
length/charCodeAt/indexOf/includes/startsWith/endsWith, Number/unary
plus/parseInt/parseFloat, typed string-keyed Map/Set get/has/set/add/
delete keys, string switch discriminants, and string parameters their
callee only lends) is written by scr_str_slice_scratch into a per-site
stack buffer as an immortal ASCII ScrStr marked as scratch (cap < len),
instead of a heap allocation. Stable locals initialized by such a slice
qualify when every read lends. Map/Set insertion stores a heap copy of a
scratch key, and probes cache the key hash in the scratch header, so the
counting idiom allocates only for new keys. Longer, non-ASCII, and
interned results keep the owned slice; coroutines and debug builds are
unchanged. Slice bounds are normalized without a libm trunc call.

For radixes other than 2, 4, 8, 10, 16 and 32, V8 folds each 32-bit digit
chunk with `value * multiplier + part`. Node's arm64 builds fuse that
multiply-add into one rounding and its x64 builds round twice, so long
inputs such as parseInt("9007199254740993", 36) answer
1.9896986116031812e+24 on arm64 and 1.9896986116031807e+24 on x64. The
runtime followed the same split only through the C compiler's default
contraction, and the committed string oracle held one architecture's
answers: regenerating it on x64 replaced the two arm64 values, failing the
string oracle tests on macOS arm64.
scr_radix_fold now writes out each form: fma() on aarch64, and an unfused
multiply and add with contraction disabled elsewhere, so the result matches
the same architecture's Node under any contraction setting. The generator
records the architecture-dependent cases once per architecture
("parseInt.arm64" / "parseInt.x64") from a listed table and checks the
current machine's answer against Node, so the committed file is the same
whichever machine generates it. The C harness runs the cases for the
architecture it was built for.
- Avoid materializing scalar string slices and preserve index metadata.
- Specialize known callbacks and numeric call boundaries.
- Lower proved integer remainders without changing number semantics.
- Sort primitive arrays with stable native ordering and pure conversion keys.
- Preserve sparse semantics and argument effects while avoiding callback overhead.
- Verify Unicode ordering and ownership across native and WASI paths.
- Reuse bounded local spans and process Unicode index conversions in chunks.
- Share slice extraction and avoid unnecessary work in positioned searches.
- Preserve cached receiver state across suffix checks and cover navigation lifetimes.
- Combine bounded string concatenations while preserving evaluation and ownership.
- Build array joins and raw strings directly in their final storage.
- Support literal null and undefined string conversions with preserved effects.
