The native compiler ran four large module initializers at every startup:
the builtin call signatures (LIB_FN_SIGS), the Node 24 fetch
compatibility profile, and the builtin module function and ambient
surface tables. Together their init functions are about 1.3 MB of code,
and --version and warm cache-hit builds paged them in and built the
tables without reading them.
Each table is now built by a function on its first call and kept in a
module variable:
- libFnSignatures() replaces LIB_FN_SIGS
- node24FetchCompatProfile() and staticFetchMembers() replace
NODE24_FETCH_COMPAT_PROFILE and the STATIC_* member sets
- builtinModuleFns() and ambientSurfaceFns() replace BUILTIN_MODULE_FNS
and AMBIENT_SURFACE_FNS
The @scriptc/compiler entry point keeps LIB_FN_SIGS and
NODE24_FETCH_COMPAT_PROFILE as deprecated constants built from the new
functions when the entry module loads. The native compiler does not load
that module.
The surface manifest's coverage notes read the fetch target through the
profile function, so building the manifest module no longer builds the
profile. The table contents are unchanged.
* Make native installs portable and smaller
- Support glibc 2.34 with portable compiler binaries and static LLVM helpers.
- Bundle the host runtime and discover optional cross-target packs from project dependencies.
- Add application build benchmarks covering latency, executable size, and memory.
* Keep bootstrap tools available in Sandbox validation
- Isolate Zig for native compiler bootstrap and glibc entropy contracts.
- Preserve the existing toolchain scope for cache and corpus tests.
* Fix portable compiler bootstrap linking
- Keep native support objects compatible with the destination host linker.
- Resolve installed targets using the host declared by the toolchain manifest.
- Remove C emission, debugging options, and automatic backend fallback.
- Complete LLVM lowering and native bootstrap coverage across supported targets.
- Link executables and libraries with precompiled C runtime packs, including iOS and Android.
- Parallelize compiler fingerprint reads while preserving cache identity and invalidation guarantees.
- Add a reproducible development build benchmark and regression coverage for file changes.
* Split volatile library identity code
- Emit build identity getters from a tiny standalone C translation unit
- Cache generated library program objects independently of volatile identity and archives
- Preserve toolchain, runtime, and translation-unit dependency invalidation coverage
* Preserve library identity during localization
* Keep library identity sources private
* Preserve library identity in public emission
* Preserve identity in kept library units
* Reuse IR across comment-only library edits
- Restore validated lowered IR when TypeScript edits change only non-semantic comments
- Rebase source locations and regenerate exact-source sidecar and build identities
- Add semantic invalidation, integrity, and real-cache coverage
* Fix semantic cache lexical validation
* Use canonical IR version in semantic cache
* Fix semantic cache lexical rebasing
* Fix semantic cache Unicode identifiers
- Implement the Zig 0.16.0 AArch64 musl runtime and preserve compiler failure diagnostics.
- Promote the target through executable, library, localization, and documentation matrices.
- Verify both backends and the complete arm64 Alpine differential contract.

- Match Node stream pull scheduling while preserving typed source identity.
- Every K-fixture library profile cross-builds through compileLibrary for aarch64-linux-gnu.2.36, x86_64-linux-gnu.2.36, x86_64-windows-gnu, and x86_64-macos, both emissions — 112 archives, ~2min warm, which plus the hard zig requirement is why the lane is env-gated like its linux/windows siblings
- Per archive on the host: K1 symbol exactness against the profile's declared set (Apple's nm is llvm-nm and reads ELF/COFF/Mach-O alike; Mach-O's underscore is the only decoration), the K8 ambient audit in bare and COFF-dllimport spellings, and probe LINKABILITY against the target's libc plus the documented win32 embedder libs
- K2 execution probes ride the existing infrastructure gates: SCRIPTC_LINUX=1 runs the scalar round-trip per linux triple in the bookworm container, SCRIPTC_WIN=1 ships it to the box over scp and folds the mingw CRT's text-mode CRLF back on that one leg
- x86_64-macos stays build-only by contract; the probe runs as a bonus when Rosetta is detected
- README documents the fifth lane beside the linux/windows differentials
