Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 7a1186471e fix(routes): inline handler calls keep their receivers (#2200)
The Express-style route extractor attributed an inline arrow handler's calls
to the route by bare name - `c.text('Hello')` became `text` - so each
matched whatever same-named symbol the project had: hono's 419 `c.text(...)`
routes called its client's `ClientResponse.text`, `c.html(...)` its `html`
helper, `c.req.parseBody()` a utility `parseBody`. A member call now keeps
its receiver (`c.text`, `userService.lookup`) and resolves like any member
call; a member of an expression (`a.b().c(`) names nothing to follow. Both
the plain and the `router.route(...).get(...)` forms share the scanner.

hono -538 +71 (`Context::text` / `Context::html` where the receiver
resolves; `c.req.*` 3-link chains now stay unresolved like any other
untyped chain); express, react-redux-realworld, trpc, kit, BookStack
unchanged.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 1f64e15886 fix(react-router): read links through a route-config object's getHref (#2187)
bulletproof-react writes every link as `<Link to={paths.app.discussion.getHref(id)}>`
and every redirect as `navigate(paths.auth.login.getHref(...))`, so none of its
navigation reached a route. The href reader now follows the config object to
where it is declared (through imports and tsconfig aliases), takes the string or
template the helper returns, keeps a whole-segment `${id}` as a parameter and
drops a hole glued onto a segment (a `?redirectTo=` suffix).

The Link tag pattern also stopped at the `>` of an arrow attribute written
before `to` (`onMouseEnter={() => prefetch(id)}`), which hid those links.

bulletproof-react: 0 -> 11 navigates edges; jira_clone, ecommerce-react,
react-redux-realworld, create-t3-turbo and excalidraw unchanged.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 37bcd5c0ae fix(react-router): nested, lazy and constant routes; per-app tsconfig aliases (#2165)
- Route tables compose nested paths: a child's `path` is relative to the
  path-bearing routes around it (`children` of a data router, nested
  `<Route>` elements), absolute ones reset. `lazy: () => import('./x')`
  (object and JSX) renders the module's default export (`Component` export
  as fallback) via a claimed `lazy-import:` ref. `path: paths.app.root.path`
  keeps its parts on the node's signature and is named in postExtract from
  the constant's object literal (found through the file's import). The
  route keeps its extracted id; `isReactRouterRoute` accepts it. An element
  wrapped in parentheses or a guard (`<ProtectedRoute>`, `<Suspense>`,
  `*Provider`, `*Guard`) renders the first element inside.
- Import aliases: the tsconfig / jsconfig nearest the importing file that
  declares `paths` is tried before the root's, so each monorepo app resolves
  its own `@/*` / `~/*`.

A/B (edges removed / added): bulletproof-react -43/+367 (0 → 9 named,
linked routes; cross-app imports fixed), react-native-reusables -103/+193,
kit -184/+218, trpc -45/+71 (examples' `~/…` now their own), create-t3-turbo
-1/+13; excalidraw, halo, obytes, realworld byte-identical. #1348's nested
fixtures now expect composed paths (`/dashboard/settings`, `/data/prefs`).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 9269f92dd5 fix(aspnet): FastEndpoints routes, and minimal API paths get a leading slash (#2158)
- FastEndpoints: an endpoint class (`: Endpoint<…>`, `EndpointWithoutRequest`,
  `Ep.…`) declares `Get(…)` / `Post(…)` in `Configure()`; each becomes a route
  linked to the class's own HandleAsync / ExecuteAsync (the bare-member scope
  from #2151 keeps two `List` endpoints apart). A constant path
  (`CreateContributorRequest.Route`) is read in postExtract from wherever the
  class declares it; `$"/{nameof(Project)}s"` reads as `/Projects`.
- `app.MapGet("api/todos", …)` is named `/api/todos`.

A/B: ardalis/CleanArchitecture 0 → 24 routes (+24 edges); eShopOnWeb and
eShop only re-key routes whose path gained a leading slash; realworld and
jasontaylordev/CleanArchitecture byte-identical.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 3151d5c469 fix(vapor): closure, webSocket and on(…) routes are routes (#2157)
Only `<builder>.METHOD(…, use: handler)` registrations were read. Now also:
- trailing-closure routes, `app.get("hello", ":name") { req in … }`, and
  `app.webSocket("chat") { req, ws in … }` (method WS), `routes.on(.GET, "x")
  { … }` — statement-start only, so `if let v = req.parameters.get("x") {`
  and an HTTP client's `req.client.get("https://…") { … }` don't count;
- `routes.on(.POST, "x", body: .collect(…), use: handler)`, with only
  unlabeled string arguments as path segments.

Routes main → this branch: SwiftPackageIndex-Server 13→34, vapor 6→265
(its tests), swiftchat 0→1, SteamPress 27→27, penny-bot 0→0.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 a5b0160e5b fix(play): a Play project in a subdirectory is still Play (#2156)
Detection only looked at the root (`build.sbt`, `conf/routes`,
`conf/application.conf`); playframework/play-samples keeps each project's
`conf/routes` in its own directory and had no routes. Any indexed Play routes
file now counts. play-samples 0 → 139 routes (+108 edges); root-level Play
repos are unaffected.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 110208973f fix(rails): routes are read with their namespaces, scopes and nesting (#2155)
- Route files (`routes.draw`, or under config/routes/) are read as a block
  structure: `namespace` / `scope` add path + controller module, nested
  `resources … do` sit under `/:parent_id`, `member` / `collection` add
  `/:id/x` / `/x` actions, `root` and `resource` / `resources` options
  (`only:` / `except:` across lines, `path:`, `controller:`) are honored;
  `do` and `if` / `unless` / `case` / `begin` open frames an `end` closes.
- Detection accepts `gem "rails"` (double quotes), railties, and a Rails
  engine's `config/routes.rb` anywhere (solidus).
- A namespaced `controller#action` only reaches controllers of its own
  module path when any exist — an admin controller that inherits `index` is
  not the API's `ZonesController#index`.

Route→action edges main → this branch: mastodon 221→578, solidus 0→319,
rubygems.org 108→192, maybe 127→189, lobsters 141→196; no non-route edge
lost except solidus's CamelCase refs now resolved by the Rails model
resolver (`Order` → Spree::Order model, was a state-machine module).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 11cc3d9647 fix(flask): add_url_rule and view_func registrations are routes (#2154)
`bp.add_url_rule('/path', 'name', view_func | positional view, methods=[…])`
and a project's own wrapper that hands a list of paths and a `view_func=`
over (flaskbb's `register_view(auth, routes=[…], view_func=X.as_view(…))`)
now produce route nodes linked to the view. A class-based view is ANY unless
`methods=` says; a function defaults to GET. A call whose path isn't a
string literal (the wrapper's own `add_url_rule(route, …)`) adds nothing.

flaskbb 0 → 103 routes (+104 edges); flask's own tests +27; CTFd, microblog,
bluelog byte-identical.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 6f798dce6b fix(react-native): Paper requireNativeComponent views reach native; JSX via default imports (#2137)
- `requireNativeComponent('X')` (Paper) now emits the same JS `component`
  node a Codegen spec does, so the Fabric pass links it to the native view /
  manager classes; the extractor also runs on `.js` / `.jsx` spec modules
  (segmented-control's spec is Flow `.js`). react-native-maps' `AIRMap`
  gains its iOS implementation.
- A JSX tag that names no node is the file's DEFAULT import of a module's
  one component: `<RNCSegmentedControlNativeComponent>`, and element-plus's
  test `<Autocomplete>` for `autocomplete.vue` (whose component node is
  `autocomplete`). A named import never takes a barrel's one component.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 72a9346b12 fix(expo-router): +api files are endpoints; the nearest router manifest decides (#2135)
- `app/blog/og-image/[post]+api.ts` was a screen named
  `/blog/og-image/[post]+api` (evanbacon.dev). An Expo API route is now one
  endpoint per exported HTTP method (`GET /blog/og-image/:post`), bound to
  its handler, the way Next.js `route.ts` files are.
- The per-app framework gate (#2129) took ANY enclosing manifest's
  declaration: react-native-true-sheet's root declares expo-router for its
  example app, so its `docs/` Next.js app got 16 Expo screens (`/layout`,
  `/page`, `/api/search/route`, …). Walking up from a file, the first
  manifest that names any gated framework now decides.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 67744468d2 fix(resolution): Expo module bindings, imported receivers, TS type-only imports (#2134)
- Expo Modules: a JS call on a `requireNativeModule('N')` binding — typed
  (`<CameraNativeModule>`) or not, local or imported (expo-camera's
  `import CameraManager from './ExpoCameraManager'`) — resolves to module
  N's declared function, Swift first and Kotlin beside it, else to the
  member on the binding's declared type. It went to the same-named static
  method making the call.
- A JS/TS member call on an import binding never picks a method declared in
  the calling file, and ruling those out never manufactures a unique guess.
- `import type { X }` was parsed as a default import named `type` (every
  type-only import bound `type`), and `{ a, type B }` bound `type B`.
- A name the file binds from an out-of-repo package names nothing in the
  project, for every reference kind, and JS/TS fuzzy matching is exact-case:
  trpc's 402 `Record<…>` references went to a `record` property, element-plus's
  121 `mount` imports from @vue/test-utils to a test helper.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 cec041d241 fix(angular): Nx workspaces, barrels, class-constant paths and root-relative navigate (#2133)
From the router sweep:
- angular-spotify had 12 routes all named `/` and no navigation. Its lazy
  routes are `async () => (await import('@ws/home')).HomeModule` through an
  Nx library's `src/index.ts` barrel, which the mount pass never looked
  through; and every lib is its own `src/`, so each routes file got its own
  route table and no template's `routerLink` found the screen it names.
- jira-clone had 3 routes and no navigation: its issue route is
  `issue/:${ProjectConst.IssueId}` (a class `static readonly`), its root
  redirect lives in `app.routes.ts`, which only mounts, and
  `navigate(['project', 'issue', id])` has no leading `/`.

Now: lazy mounts follow `export … from` barrels (and an NgModule's routing
imports); `(await import(x)).M` is read; route constants may be class
statics (strings or objects), enum members, or live behind a barrel, and a
template-literal path takes constant holes; a routes file that only mounts
contributes its redirects at its mount prefix; the route table is keyed by
the `angular.json` / `nx.json` workspace; and `router.navigate` /
`createUrlTree` without `relativeTo` resolve a bare first command from the
root, as Angular does (template `routerLink` stays relative).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 b62da73550 fix(sveltekit): route names drop (group) folders and parameter matchers (#2131)
A `(group)` directory shares a layout and is never part of the URL, and a
parameter's `=matcher` checks its value. Kept in the name, shadcn-svelte's
`src/routes/(app)/(layout)/blocks/+page.svelte` was `/(app)/(layout)/blocks`,
so no `goto('/blocks')` or `<a href="/blocks">` ever reached it and its
Screens showed no navigation at all.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 54a1698caa fix(vue-router): admin-template route tables, children and layouts; Nuxt routes only in Nuxt (#2130)
vue-element-admin, vue-admin-template and vben had no routes: their tables
are named arrays (`export const constantRoutes = [...]`, `const routes:
RouteRecordRaw[] = [...]`) or per-module objects (`const tableRouter = {…}`)
handed to `new Router(...)`, and most of their screens are `children`.

The Vue Router reader now reads those tables in any file that builds a
router, imports vue-router or lives in a router/ directory; joins children
onto their parent's path (a parent is a screen only when no child claims
its address and it doesn't redirect); binds a lazy view by the FILE it
imports (all of vue-element-admin's are `…/index.vue`), through an alias the
resolver can't follow by the one file in the app with that path; links each
screen to its parents' components as layouts; and takes `this.$router.push`.

Nuxt's file routes move into their own `nuxt` resolver, detected only in a
Nuxt app: halo's plain-Vue console got 30 made-up screens from its `pages/`
folders. A Nuxt app at the repository root now gets its routes, and a
top-level `pages/index.vue` is `/`, not `/index`.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 92e14eda40 fix(extraction): a file-based router reads only its own app in a monorepo (#2129)
create-t3-turbo, tamagui's starter and react-native-reusables keep an Expo
app beside a Next.js app. Expo Router read the Next app's `app/` folder as
its own, so `layout.tsx` became a `/layout` screen, `page.tsx` a `/page`
one, `_components/posts.tsx` and `api/auth/[...all]/route.ts` screens too,
and a shared `packages/app/` library's files became screens as well.

A resolver can now name `appDependencies`; its extractor runs on a file
only when that file's package.json or an enclosing one declares one of
them. When no manifest in the project declares any, detection found the
framework by other evidence and it runs everywhere, as before. Expo Router
names `expo-router`, Next.js `next`.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 7a51969fb0 fix(resolution): JS/TS calls never pick a class member by name alone when the code rules it out (#2120)
Found by the README-wide sweep: the "most depended on" lists of popular
repos were topped by members that nothing actually calls.

- A member call on a NAMESPACE import (`import * as z from "zod/v4"`) calls
  one of the module's exports, never some class's method; a receiver
  imported from a package outside the repository names nothing in it.
  matchMethodCall's name/word-overlap strategies no longer run for either.
  zod: `z.string()` had bound 2,640 calls to a test helper's `string`
  getter (Mocker::string topped the hub list with 3,209), `z.toJSONSchema`
  371 to ZodType::toJSONSchema; trpc `z.record` to a generated SDK class.
- A receiver-less JS/TS or Go call cannot reach a PROPERTY, FIELD or enum
  case either (it already excluded methods, #1714/#1857): typeorm's mocha
  `it(…)` bound 2,879 calls to an interface's `it` property and `describe(…)`
  1,368 to a command class's `describe` string field.
- A bare call to a name the file imports from outside the repository
  (`import { useQuery } from '@tanstack/react-query'`, CommonJS
  `require('supertest')`, vitest's `test`) gets no name-matched candidate.
- The React resolver leaves an imported component/hook/context to import
  resolution (framework resolution runs first and picked any same-named
  project hook — trpc tests' `useQuery` landed on a hook nested inside one of
  trpc's factories), and never targets a nested hook; same-file hook first.
- "Outside the repository" is the coordinator's `isOutOfRepoImport`:
  isExternalImport (aliases, workspace members) AND not the repo's own package
  name AND unresolvable by resolveImportPath — so axios's own tests'
  `import { getAdapter } from 'axios'` now resolve to lib/adapters.js instead
  of the .d.ts interface member.

A/B vs main (edge diffs, every change classified): zod −5,228, typeorm
−4,318, express −700 (calls onto the `var request = require('supertest')`
binding), trpc −350/+17, excalidraw −233/+3 (props callbacks onto Props
interface members), hono −150, axios −52/+23 (the self-import upgrade),
bulletproof-react: 156 sites that pointed at ANOTHER app's component/hook in
the three-app monorepo now point at the importing app's own, 16 wrong
cross-app links dropped, 8 imports the React heuristic had guessed right lost
(per-app tsconfig paths don't resolve — separate follow-up); gin/cobra
byte-identical, react-redux-realworld byte-identical.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 e845b1cd10 fix(nestjs): routes carry the app's global prefix and URI version (#2117)
`app.setGlobalPrefix('api')` and `app.enableVersioning({ type:
VersioningType.URI, defaultVersion: '1' })` put every controller under
`/api/v1`, but routes were named by the controller path alone (`GET /user`).
A front end's `this.http.get('/api/v1/user')` then linked to nothing:
Ghostfolio's Angular client had no cross-tier edge into its own NestJS API.

postExtract now reads each `NestFactory.create` bootstrap and renames the
routes of controllers in that app, in NestJS's order:
`/{prefix unless excluded}/{v}{version}/{RouterModule prefix}/{path}`.

- `exclude` paths (plain, `{ path, method }`, `{/*wildcard}`, `(.*)`, `*`)
  skip the prefix and keep their version, as NestJS does.
- A route's version: its own `@Version` (found past decorators with object
  arguments), else the class's `@Version` or `@Controller({ version })`,
  else `defaultVersion`. `VERSION_NEUTRAL` has none; header/media-type
  versioning adds no segment.
- A computed prefix (`config.get(...)`) is not guessed.
- Each app uses its own bootstrap (the longest root above it). A seed script
  that creates the same app without serving it doesn't displace the one that
  configures it, and an app with no config doesn't borrow another app's.
- Only routes whose decorator sits in a `@Controller` are touched, so an
  Express route in the same repo keeps its name.

Ghostfolio: 0 → 103 cross-tier edges (82 of 85 client call sites), no
mismatches. koel, proshop, IceCubes and nest-samples are byte-identical to main.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 761611c18e feat(angular): routes, navigation and the component tree for Angular apps (#2113)
An Angular app had no route nodes, no navigates edges and no link from a
template to what it renders — the viewer's Steps tab said "No screens or
endpoints" and there was no Screens tab.

Routes (frameworks/angular-router.ts): every `Routes` array — typed
`Routes` / `Route[]`, `RouterModule.forRoot/forChild`, `provideRouter`, a
routes file's `export default [...]` / `as|satisfies Routes` — walked as
objects. `component` binds by `references` (route-roots takes a class as
a named handler); a lazy `loadComponent` binds to the file's `@Component`
class. `children` join their parent's path; a lazily loaded file's routes
are put under the path that loads them in postExtract (following an
NgModule `loadChildren` to the routing module it imports), idempotently
from the in-file path kept in the qualified name. A route with children
is a layout: a screen only where no child claims its address, and linked
from each screen inside it (`references`, `layout: true`). Paths written
as route constants (`internalRoutes.account.path`, through destructured
locals and `const x + '/:id'`) and `$localize` strings are read from the
constant object. `redirectTo` aliases an address to the screen it sends
the user to; a root `**` redirect answers `/` only. A `matcher` route and
a `**` catch-all are not screens.

Navigation: `router.navigate([...])`, `navigateByUrl`, a guard's
`createUrlTree` / `parseUrl` — a command array (non-literal elements are
holes), a static string, a route constant, a component property holding
one, a function constant called with arguments, `.concat(id)`. A
`relativeTo` navigation, a query-only `navigate([])` and a destination
made only of holes (it would match any route of its length) are left
unresolved.

Templates (angular-template-synthesizer.ts): a component's `templateUrl`
file or inline `template:` is read at synthesis time. `<app-foo>` by
element selector (same app first; two candidates = none) is a `calls`
edge from parent to child (`angular-template`), the edge a navigation in
a child component rides to its screen. `routerLink` / `[routerLink]` and
a `routerLink:` field written in the class (a tab bar's config) are
navigates edges. Gated on an `@angular/core` dependency.

Measured:
- angular-realworld: 10 routes all bound; 11/11 navigation sites
  accounted for (10 resolved, 1 query-only); 31/31 routerLink sites
  resolved; 18 renders.
- Ghostfolio: 84 routes all bound, 0 unresolved constant paths; 27
  navigate resolved, 23 correctly not (8 relative, 9 query-only, 2
  computed, 4 aimed at a matcher route); 162 routerLink edges, every one
  checked against its site; 170 renders.
- ngx-admin (NgModule): 55 routes, 47 bound (8 are @nebular/auth's); no
  navigation calls in the source.
- Controls byte-identical vs main (nodes and edges incl. metadata):
  koel, IceCubesApp, spring-petclinic, proshop. Ghostfolio index time at
  parity.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 7639c787e4 fix(swift): what a SwiftUI app's viewer showed that was not so (#2109)
Three things IceCubesApp showed in `codegraph ui`:

Steps labelled calls that leave the index by other stacks' names:
`rawValue.data(using: .utf8)` network (25 boxes), Foundation's `Timer`
telemetry, `Calendar` and a SiriKit `intent` device, the app's own
`Notifications` endpoint enum device (expo-notifications' row), and
`viewModel.votes.firstIndex(of:)` a database read (the `\w*Model` row).
Now: a Swift `.data/.upload/.download/.bytes` is network only on a
`*session` receiver; Timer/Calendar/intent are no effect in Swift; a
`viewModel` is not a table (any language); a keychain receiver is
storage ahead of Swift's generic `x.delete` database row. A call whose
receiver is a type the Swift project declares — not an `extension X {}`,
which declares nothing (read through the site reader) — no longer
matches the library-name rows; the model and reply rows, written for
project types, still do.

"Files that run something" listed every view with a `#Preview { … }`:
the macro sits at a file's top level, so its constructions were
module-level edges. Entry points now subtract calls inside a Swift
file's top-level previews (trailing closures included — WidgetKit's
`} timeline: {`), drop a file left with none, and re-rank.

Every `struct X: View` had a one-line `component` twin, and `@main`
apps, view controllers and UIView subclasses a `class` twin, from the
SwiftUI/UIKit resolvers' regex extract(): 188 nodes on IceCubesApp, 184
on mastodon-ios, zero edges into any of them — dead ends in search and
the symbol view. The two extract()s are removed.

IceCubesApp's effect sweep is now URLSession-only network, no
telemetry, no database, keychain storage; its entry files drop from
eleven preview files to its one real script. SwiftPackageIndex's Fluent
database and reply steps are unchanged.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 48b1a19b19 fix(vapor): bind a route to the handler on the type it names (#2106)
`use: SearchController.show` kept only `show`, and name matching bound
every controller's `show` route to whichever `show` came first — on
SwiftPackageIndex-Server 7 of 13 routes pointed at another endpoint's
code (Search, HealthCheck, ValidateSPIManifest and ReadyForSwift6's
`show` all at AuthorController.show).

The route's handler ref now keeps the type: `Type@method` (dotted for
nested types, `API.PackageController@get`), `@method` for `self.x` and a
bare `x`, and a `let todos = TodoController()` receiver's type. The Vapor
resolver claims these and resolves on the owner's qualified name:
nested types, handlers declared in `extension Type` in another file, and
`extension API.PackageController` (whose node carries only the last
segment, so its declaration line decides). `self.x` / bare `x` take the
method of the type the route is written in. Of one type's overloads, the
one declared to take a `Request` wins. Two types, or none, leave the
ref unresolved rather than guess.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 ffced05e3c fix(laravel): name routes by the path a request takes — leading slash, prefix groups, the /api mount (#2099)
Routes were named by the bare literal in the routes file, so BookStack's
api.php showed `GET pages` for `/api/pages` and koel's `Route::prefix('api')`
group showed `GET ping` for `/api/ping`. Beyond the label, a front-end
`fetch('/api/pages')` could never pair with a route recorded as `pages`.

- extract(): `Route::prefix()` chains and `Route::group(['prefix' => …])`
  scope their routes, nested ones in order; a computed prefix is kept as a
  `{prefix}` segment. Paths are joined the way Laravel joins them (leading
  slash, no doubled or trailing slashes). qualifiedName now holds that
  in-file path.
- postExtract(): finds where each routes file is mounted — a group whose
  argument is the file, a require / include / loadRoutesFrom inside a
  group, Laravel 11's `withRouting(api:, web:, apiPrefix:)` — composes the
  prefixes down the include tree, and names every Laravel route from its
  qualifiedName plus its file's prefix (idempotent; a removed mount is
  undone). routes/api.php defaults to `/api` unless something mounts it or
  a `withRouting(using:)` loader might. A file mounted at two prefixes stays
  at its in-file path. Only files in routes/ or naming `routes/` /
  `withRouting(` are read.

On BookStack all 80 api.php routes become `/api/…` (from its
RouteServiceProvider group); on koel all 118 become `/api/…`; no route is
left without a leading slash.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 5.5 fef37765c1 perf(resolution): remove the indexing regressions since v1.6.0 (vscode stall, per-ref rescans) — graph byte-identical (#2072)
* perf(resolution): read JS/TS parameter lists without exponential backtracking

isLocallyBoundJsName (#1759, cd4e65b5) scans a file for a parameter that
binds a bare-called name. Its per-parameter pattern `(type)?(default)?\s*`
let one `name: T = value` text split several ways, so when the name was
absent the search backtracked through every combination. On vscode's
markersModel.test.ts, whose helper takes nine typed, defaulted parameters,
each `suite`/`test` scan took 30-40s — one pool worker held a whole
resolution batch while the rest idled, a 70-400s stall per run.

Each parameter now has exactly one parse: its first non-space character
after the identifier picks the type, default or bare alternative. The
alternatives match exactly the strings the old optional groups did, so the
result is identical for every input (4M generated cases and 5.6k real
vscode file/name pairs agree); the scan is 0.1-0.3ms on that file.

* perf(resolution): memoize Python module-file lookups per resolution pass

#2034 (5eaa6fed) sent every Python named import whose path the import
resolver cannot place — stdlib and third-party modules such as
`from unittest import mock` — through findPythonModuleFile, which scans
every `__init__.py` file node for a path suffix. It ran once per ref:
on django that scan alone went from 0.6s to 1.4s of resolution CPU.

The candidates for a module depend only on the module path, so they are
now collected once per resolution context, in the same name-lookup order;
the importing file is still excluded per call, so the first survivor is
the node the scan returned. The memo drops with the other import-resolver
memos. Resolution output on django is hash-identical; single-threaded
resolution CPU there goes from 6.5-6.8s to 4.9s (v1.6.0: 4.5s).

* perf(resolution): test sealed-module candidates cheapest-first

isSealedModule (#1719, bffd50e4) masks a candidate file's comments and
strings before asking whether it is a module that exports nothing. Import
refs call it for every same-named candidate across the tree, so on vscode
it masked nearly every TypeScript file once per resolver: 3.3s of masking
in a single-threaded pass, paid again in each pool worker.

The verdict is a pure conjunction, so it now asks the cheap questions
first: the source contains `import`, no node in the file is exported, and
there is no CommonJS export. Masking runs only for files that pass all
three, which in practice are the few that can be sealed. The masker blanks
text and never deletes it, so a file without `import` in its source has
none in its masked code either. Resolution output is hash-identical on
vscode and django.

* perf(resolution): scan a class for a field's declared type once per field

matchTsThisFieldCall (#1496, cece0720) resolves `this.<field>.<method>()`
by finding the field's declaration in the enclosing class. It re-split the
whole file, stripped comments line by line and compiled three patterns for
every such call, although the answer depends only on the class and the
field: 16.5s of a 148s single-threaded resolution pass on vscode.

The first declaring line — `: typeof X`, `: X` or `= new X`, in that order
per line — is now memoized per (class node, field), and the last few
classes' stripped lines are kept, since calls arrive file by file. Owners
are still tried in the same order and everything after the declaration
lookup is unchanged. Resolution output is hash-identical on vscode and
django.

* perf(synthesis): start cross-tier receiver chains only at a word's start

The cross-tier pass (b1f40c57) scans every non-test JS/TS file whose text
has a `.add(`, `.get(` or `.on(` — nearly all of vscode — with receiver-
chain patterns such as `a.b.c.add('job')`. A chain could begin at any
letter of an identifier, so each letter re-read the dotted chain behind
it; on vscode the pass ran 35s on one pool worker and set the synthesis
phase's wall.

A match that starts mid-word implies one from the word's first letter, and
every match of these patterns ends on a non-word character, so a scan
never resumes mid-word: a lookbehind that rejects those starts skips only
attempts bound to fail. Over all 14,135 vscode JS/TS files the five
patterns return identical matches (positions and groups) before and
after, in 8.8s instead of 32.8s; the pass itself drops from ~9.8s to
~5.6s CPU standalone.

* perf(resolution): filter same-named candidates in one pass, cheap checks first

Interface members (#1638) and nested const-bound functions (#1669) made
common names — `editor`, `model`, `dispose` — carry thousands of nodes.
matchByExactName ran ten chained filters over that list for every
reference, copying it once per rule before the source-reading checks ran,
and the method-call strategies copied it again to put the call site's file
first before looking at only the class-like or same-file entries.

Each rule judges one candidate on its own, so the exact-name rules now run
as a single pass with the kind and language checks ahead of the lexical,
sealed-module and local-binding checks; the class strategies narrow to
owner kinds before ordering by file (the same nodes in the same order),
and the object-literal strategy, which keeps same-file holders only,
skips the reordering altogether. Resolution output is hash-identical on
vscode and django.

* perf(synthesis): scope language-specific node scans in SQL

Eleven synthesis passes stream every node of a kind and keep only their
language's (Go, Java/Kotlin, XML, native, ArkTS, Nix, Erlang). On a
TypeScript monorepo the Go passes materialized all 113k vscode methods to
find two Go ones — goMethodContains alone went from 0.5s to ~2.9s on the
main thread after interface members (#1638) grew the method count and the
canonical ORDER BY (#1988) landed.

iterateNodesByKindIn adds the language predicate to the same query. Its
ORDER BY (file_path, start_line, id) is a total order, so it yields
exactly the nodes the callers kept, in the same sequence.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* perf(synthesis): run the synthesis-site index and source-gate scan beside the passes

Two serial main-thread steps landed with the incremental synthesis refresh
(#1988, #2038). The bulk-edge window rebuilt idx_edges_synthesis_site
before synthesis — its partial predicate runs json_valid over the
metadata of every edge (~1.5M rows, 2.7s on vscode) — and after the merged
insert synthesis re-read every file in the project to record its source
gates (~1.9s). Neither result is read until the index is finished: only
sync consults the index, and the gates depend only on the files.

The window's end now leaves that one index for later, and the resolver
builds it while the pool computes the passes, when the main thread was
only waiting; the source-gate scan runs in the same window. Both still
happen before resolution returns, whatever path synthesis takes, and a
crash in between is healed on the next open as before. On vscode
edge-index-recreate drops from 8.3s to 3.6s of serial time; the graph,
synthesis_inputs and the final index set are identical.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* perf(resolution): stop re-reading resolved targets and re-probing missing files

Every resolved reference now re-reads its target node several times —
the kind gate (#1796), the cross-family language gate (#1986), alias
following (#1482) and edge creation — through the query layer's
1,000-entry node cache, while targets recur ~5x (1.46M vscode edges onto
293k nodes). The language gate alone spent ~6s of single-threaded
resolution on vscode fetching whole nodes to read one field, and
fileExists re-probed the same missing candidate paths (every extension of
a `.js` specifier) from every importing file, now under a path.resolve
containment check (#1631).

The resolver keeps its own id → node cache and a memo of filesystem
probes, both in the stable window of its other caches and dropped by
clearCaches; the language gate returns early when the reference's
language has no code family (no target can cross one) and otherwise
memoizes each target's language. Resolution output is hash-identical on
vscode and django.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* perf(resolution): cheaper sealed-module and receiver-less call checks

isSealedModule read and decoded a candidate file — its source and every
node — to learn whether anything is exported, though nearly every module
does. It now asks one indexed EXISTS probe first and reads the source only
for files that export nothing (the conjunction is unchanged).

isReceiverLessCall (#1759, #1857) compiled a pattern per call and
end-anchored two more over the line's prefix, which V8 scans from the
start. It now matches the name literally with a sticky `\s*[(<]`, and reads
the prefix backwards: the last non-space character decides whether a
receiver precedes the call, and the word run ending there decides the
keyword exception — exactly what `[.\w$\])]\s*$` and
`\b(?:return|...)\s*$` accepted. Resolution output is hash-identical on
vscode and django.

* perf(synthesis): pull passes onto workers heaviest-first; cheaper registry and tier scans

The pooled fan-out handed every pass out at once, so each worker held a
count-based share and a heavy pass finished only with its worker's whole
share (vscode's registry pass ended ~16s in). Workers now pull one pass at
a time, heaviest first; edges still merge by registry index, so the output
is unchanged. vscode synthesis: 14.5s vs 19.6-24.4s.

The registry pass retried its greedy name at every character of every
identifier; both scans now start a name only at an identifier's first
character or a `this.` (a mid-identifier resume after a `.method` dispatch
falls back to the unguarded pattern), and dispatch lines come from a
newline-offset lookup instead of splitting the prefix per match. Checked
match-for-match against the old patterns on every vscode JS/TS file plus
300k fuzzed strings. The tier pass reads a file's nodes only when a site
needs them. Standalone on vscode: registry 5.6s -> 4.5s, tier 5.1s -> 4.4s.

* perf(resolution): lean export indexes; no per-name regex compiles in field and local-binding checks

Three per-lookup costs the resolver pool paid once per worker:

- A file's export index decoded every node in the file and read its source,
  for each file an import reached, in every worker. It now reads only the
  exported rows (same `start_line, id` order); the default-export binding
  and names a local `export { a as b }` clause introduces are read on first
  use, from name-targeted rows. findExportedSymbol across vscode's workers:
  12.5s -> 3.7s.
- The `this.<field>` declaration scan compiled three patterns per field of
  every class and walked every class line. Each pattern needs the field as
  a whole `[\w$#]` token, so a class's lines are indexed by token once and
  three sticky patterns, compiled once, are tried at the field's token
  occurrences. Identical on 721k vscode (file, field) pairs; 56.7s -> 1.1s
  standalone.
- isLocallyBoundJsName searched the whole file with four patterns per name.
  Each can only start at a `const`/`let`/`var` or `function`/`class`
  keyword, an `=>`, or the `(` opening a list before the name, so the
  patterns (compiled once per name, sticky) are tried there. Identical on
  198k vscode (file, name) pairs; 68.1s -> 10.7s standalone.

Replaying every vscode (2.19M) and django (270k) reference single-threaded
gives the same result hash before and after.

* perf(resolution): prepare kind-filtered edge reads once; memoize the inherited this-member walk

- getOutgoingEdges / getIncomingEdges with a kind filter prepared a fresh
  statement on every call, a third of the read's cost; they are issued per
  node by supertype walks and the member-lookup synthesis passes. Each SQL
  shape is now prepared once per connection (dropped on rebind).
- The post-loop `this.<member>` pass walked the same supertypes for every
  reference, reading each one's contains edges and decoding members one by
  one until a name matched. Nothing is written until the pass ends, so each
  type's supertype edges and each supertype's callable members (by name, in
  edge order) are read once. vscode: 4.1s -> 1.0s.
- Express's mount pass decoded every JS/TS file to look for `.use(`; it now
  checks the raw bytes first (an ASCII needle survives UTF-8 decoding
  unchanged) and decodes only files that have it.

A full vscode init dumps the identical graph before and after.

* perf(resolution): fan the next batch out before inserting edges resolution never reads

The batch loop inserted every batch's edges before fanning out the next
one, so the pool sat idle through each insert. That ordering exists for
one reason: later batches walk supertype chains over the `extends` /
`implements` edges earlier batches resolved. Those are the only edges
resolution reads, and the prerequisite phase drains every such ref first,
so after it no batch makes one. A batch without them now fans the next
batch out first and inserts while it resolves: the same writes in the same
order, and nothing the workers read differs. The kinds live in one
constant, shared with the supertype walk.

vscode resolution, three interleaved rounds against the parent commit:
50.3-51.0s vs 56.8-59.1s wall (the pool's wait per batch halves; the
overlapped inserts cost ~7s more CPU). Full vscode and django inits dump
identical graphs before and after, and identical to main.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* perf(db): prepare the edge-endpoint existence check once

Every edge insert checks its endpoints with a 500-id IN query, a chunk at
a time, and prepared that statement afresh for each chunk. The batch loop
now runs these inserts on the main thread while the pool resolves, so the
full-size statement is prepared once; only a final partial chunk prepares
ad hoc (as deleteReferencesByRowIds already does). Same SQL, same result.

htarnackiandHubert Tarnacki c3faef260b fix(spring): gate DI convention patterns to Java/Kotlin non-inheritance refs (#1827)
In a polyglot repo the Spring resolver is detected globally (a sibling
Java module with spring-boot in its pom is enough), and its resolve()
then ran on references from every language. Pattern 4's bare-name
fallback ('any [A-Z][a-zA-Z]+ name, prefer /model/ dirs, else ANY
same-named class') could therefore hijack a Scala 'extends ExtCustomer'
to an unrelated same-named test class, corrupting the inheritance graph
that impact analysis walks.

Two gates in front of the DI/convention patterns (1-5):
- skip refs whose language is not java/kotlin - Spring DI conventions
  say nothing about other languages
- skip extends/implements refs entirely - inheriting from a class is
  never a DI injection point; those must resolve via imports/name
  matching

The Spring config-key resolution above the gates is untouched (it
already gates itself). Regression tests cover the hijack case and the
still-working Java DI path.

Colby McHenry 6f4887db80 feat(steps): draw all arms of conditional navigations as separate edges
Adds multi-arm navigation support: when a destination is produced by a conditional, every arm is now drawn as its own edge. Introduces helpers (hrefArms, destinationsForHref) and updates framework resolvers and edge creation to emit multiple navigates edges (via alsoTargets) instead of a single one. Also introduces per-app rooted route tables to avoid cross-app crossings, and updates various resolvers (React Router, TanStack Router, Vue Router, SvelteKit, Vue, and SvelteKit’s linker) and the UI to reflect multiple possible destinations. Tests and docs updated to reflect the new behavior, ensuring the Screens tab shows all possible navigation paths from conditional destinations. This makes navigation visualization more accurate for forked destinations.

- effects.ts implicitResponseStatus: a body-sending reply with no status in its chain (res.json / send / render, reply.send, c.json, NextResponse.json, JSONResponse / jsonify / render_template, Rails render, Laravel response()->json) is a 200; a variable status, end, sendStatus and redirects stay as they were

- steps.ts: explicit chain/args → set-before → implicit 200

Update UI to include a Steps tab and associated components (StepsView, StepNode, ScreenEdge) and wire navigation to expose steps-based exploration via /api/steps and UI routes. Documentation and changelog reflect the new Expo Router integration and steps surface capabilities.

Colby McHenry 70fd5fefc2 feat(expo-router): add Expo Router support for screens and navigates
Introduce Expo Router integration: a new framework resolver, route-based screen nodes, and navigates edges, plus a /api/screens endpoint and a Screens UI view. Adds branch-guard-driven labeling of edges, resolution logic, and tests to cover extraction, resolution, and end-to-end flow. This enables CodeGraph UI to surface screens and transitions from Expo Router apps.

Max Hsu 340d4b033e fix(swift): remove catastrophic backtracking in Vapor route regex (#1547)
The arg-list group `(?:[^,()]+,\s*)*` was ambiguous: the trailing `\s*`
and the next iteration's `[^,()]+` could both claim the same run of
spaces, so a `.METHOD(...)` call with many comma-separated args that
never reaches `use:` forced an exponential search. Measured on
`app.get(arg0: value0, ...)`: 40ms at 20 args, 647ms at 24, 41.7s at 30,
and no result after 120s at 60.

Anchoring each repetition at a comma (`(?:[^,()]+,)*\s*`) makes the split
unique — `,` is outside the char class, so there is nothing to
re-partition. Same input is now 0.09ms at 1000 args.

Match behaviour is unchanged: all four capture groups are identical on 18
hand-written Vapor route shapes (no args, single/multi path segments,
`X.parameter`, multi-line calls, Environment.get non-matches) and on
200k fuzzed inputs.

Colby MchenryandClaude Fable 5 e1f339f732 fix(go): require URL-shaped paths for route detection (#1308)
cache.Put("a", 1), store.Get("config", out), bus.Handle("user.created",
h) — any verb-named method with a string first arg — were indexed as
HTTP routes (38 of 82 route nodes were false positives on the
reporter's 200 KLOC Go codebase). A registration's first argument must
now start with "/" (every router style), or be a Go 1.22
"METHOD /path" mux pattern on Handle/HandleFunc — which now also
extracts the real method instead of ANY.

Validated on go-chi/chi (212 real routes retained, all path-shaped)
and golang/groupcache (0 route nodes).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.8 625b4fe921 fix(resolution): stop per-call config-key scan that made large Java/Kotlin (Spring) indexes take ~1h (#1180) (#1210)
On a large Java/Kotlin Spring monorepo, reference resolution — not extraction —
dominated a full index (Spring Boot's ~9,650-file tree: extraction 62s,
resolution ~26min). The Spring framework resolver ran an uncached
getNodesByKind('constant') full scan + canonicalConfigKey() filter for EVERY
dotted `calls` ref (every list.add(), builder.build(), receiver.method()),
because the config-key branch gated only on "dotted java/kotlin", not on ref
kind. With ~1,100 constant nodes × ~200k dotted calls that is ~200M wasted
row-fetches/allocations.

Fixes, one theme — config-key constants bind config `references`, never `calls`:
- frameworks/java.ts: gate the Spring config-key branch on
  referenceKind === 'references' (what @Value/@ConfigurationProperties emit) so
  the `calls` flood skips the scan.
- name-matcher.ts: a `calls` ref no longer resolves to a yaml/properties config
  node via matchByQualifiedName (service.process() vs the yaml key
  service.process) — a wrong edge that also hid the real callee; it now falls
  through to method resolution.
- resolution/index.ts: cache getNodesByKind in the resolver context (same
  lifetime as nameCache). Fixes the same uncached-per-ref scan in the Drupal
  hook_ resolver and is defense-in-depth for the Spring :prefix branch.

Measured (Spring Boot): resolution 269s→16.5s on a 4.3k-file module (16×) and
~26min→44.7s on the full 9.6k-file tree (~35×); graph byte-identical, full suite
passes. Adds a regression test (same key, two ref kinds, opposite outcomes).

Colby MchenryandClaude Fable 5 f8cdbe3c67 feat(terraform): remote-state bridge, provider aliases, moved/import/check refs (#1174)
Follow-ups noted in #1173:

- cloudposse/atmos remote-state: module.M.outputs.X emits a scoped
  module.M:remote-output.X candidate; the resolver bridges it to the
  target COMPONENT's own output when every gate holds — the module
  source is the stack-config remote-state module, the component name is
  static (a literal, or component = var.X whose variable declares a
  literal default in the same directory), and exactly one directory in
  the repo matches the component name and declares that output. Dynamic
  (each.value) or ambiguous wiring stays unlinked. On
  cloudposse/terraform-aws-components: 254 remote-state bridge edges,
  every one re-derived from a matching source declaration (789/789
  cross-directory output edges explained: 528 local-module + 254
  remote-state + 7 checker-artifact false alarms under deprecated/);
  coverage 66.4% -> 69.1%.

- provider aliases: provider "aws" { alias = "east" } is addressed as
  provider.aws.east so aliased and default configurations stop
  colliding; provider = aws.east on a resource/data block (and the
  values of a module's providers map) reference the selected
  configuration, resolved same-directory first then up the module tree
  — the one construct Terraform genuinely inherits from parents. The
  selection is no longer misread as a resource reference (aws.east).

- moved/import/removed blocks reference the resource addresses they
  name (anchored to the file node — no phantom symbols), so a
  refactor's paper trail joins the graph; check-assert conditions
  contribute their references while check-scoped data blocks keep
  indexing as before. Scoped module candidates are suppressed there:
  module.a.aws_x.b names a resource inside a module instance, not an
  output. +91 edges on cloud-foundation-fabric's moved-heavy stages.

Also fixes a latent test bug from #1173: cg.getNodeById is not public
API (cg.getNode is) — it only passed because the asserted edge list was
empty.

6c24f4bddf feat(extraction): add Terraform/OpenTofu language support with module-boundary bridging (#83, #310, #648 — carries #706) (#1173)
* feat(extraction): add Terraform and OpenTofu language support

Index .tf, .tfvars, and .tofu files via the tree-sitter-terraform dialect
of HCL (vendored from @tree-sitter-grammars/tree-sitter-hcl, Apache-2.0).

Symbols extracted:
- resource / data  → class  (qualified "type.name" / "data.type.name")
- module           → module (qualified "module.name")
- variable         → variable (qualified "var.name")
- output           → variable (qualified "output.name")
- provider         → namespace
- locals → constant per attribute (qualified "local.key")

References resolved cross-file:
- var.X, local.X, module.M[.out], data.T.N[.attr], <type>.<name>[.attr]
- built-ins skipped: each.*, count.*, self.*, path.*, terraform.workspace

The Terraform framework resolver disambiguates same-named candidates
across modules by preferring the one in the same directory as the
reference site, then by closest common-ancestor path, falling back to
the generic name matcher only when neither applies.

Validated on two Terraform monorepos (277 and 470 .tf files): indexing
runs in 1.3s and 2.4s respectively, query latency stays under 200ms,
and cross-module references resolve to the correct module 100% of the
time on inspected samples.

18 new extraction tests; full suite 1146/1148 green (2 pre-existing
flaky skips, 0 regressions).

* feat(terraform): bridge the module boundary and enforce directory scoping

Builds on #706. The module declaration was a dead end: module.M.out
resolved to the declaration and stopped, module inputs never reached the
child module's variables, and impact could not cross the boundary — on
real multi-module repos that breaks the core blast-radius question
("what breaks upstream if I change this module's variable/output").

- module blocks now wire across the boundary through :-scoped refs only
  the Terraform resolver understands: module.M:var.<input> → the child's
  variable node, module.M:output.<o> → the child's output node (emitted
  alongside the module.M declaration ref), and module.M:file → the local
  source directory's entry file (imports). Registry/git sources emit no
  file ref and resolve nothing — an out-of-repo module stays a visible
  boundary instead of a guess.
- .tfvars top-level assignments reference the variable they set, walking
  up to the nearest ancestor directory (envs/prod.tfvars → root vars).
- Resolution now enforces Terraform's real scoping: same-directory only
  (no cross-module fallback by common path prefix, no single-candidate
  anywhere-in-tree binding), and terraform refs never fall through to
  the generic name matcher — var.X can never legally bind outside its
  module directory, so the fallback could only add wrong edges.

Colby MchenryandClaude Fable 5 41620c60fa feat(extraction): add COBOL language support (.cbl/.cob/.cpy) (#590, #648) (#1161)
Programs, sections/paragraphs (reconstructed extents over the grammar's
flat header stream), PERFORM/THRU/GO TO/CALL call edges, COPY copybook
imports incl. standalone .cpy fragments, DATA DIVISION records/fields/
88-levels with write-site impact references, and CICS flows: EXEC
LINK/XCTL program targets (literal + same-file VALUE deref), EXEC SQL
INCLUDE, and pseudo-conversational RETURN/START TRANSID hops resolved
to the owning program via a CICS framework resolver. Fixed and free
source format (free format via a scanner wide-mode sentinel).

Grammar: vendored wasm built from a patched yutaro-sakamoto/
tree-sitter-cobol (EXEC blocks as an external-scanner token, copybook
fragment entry point, single-quote continuation, COPY REPLACING
pseudo-text, NOT=, CALL GIVING, ENTRY, FREE, bitwise ops, abbreviated
relations, COBOL-2002 usages, and more). Patch + provenance + upstream
PR draft in docs/grammars/. Parse health: AWS CardDemo 43/44 native
(upstream: 9/31), 44/44 through preParse; copybooks 28/29; CobolCraft
free-format 17/17 (upstream: 0); NIST COBOL85 unchanged at 373/382.

Copybook members resolve to files like C includes (basename index,
name-matcher short-circuit so compiler-supplied members stay honestly
unresolved): CardDemo imports 5 -> 285. Impact proof: ACCT-CURR-BAL
(CVACT01Y copybook) surfaces its 4 writer programs cross-file.

Also: run-all.sh now neutralizes the ambient prompt-hook in both A/B
arms (CODEGRAPH_NO_PROMPT_HOOK=1); COBOL corpus entries for agent-eval.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.8 a89315645d feat(go): index GoFrame g.Meta routes and bind them to controller methods (#747) (#957)
GoFrame's standard router binds routes reflectively (group.Bind(ctrl)): the path
and method live in a g.Meta struct tag on a request type, and the controller
method that serves it is matched by that request type at runtime — so there was
no path string and no edge from a route to its handler, and "where is this route
handled / where are routes bound to controllers?" could only be answered
lexically (issue #720's report).

- frameworks/goframe.ts: detect gogf/gf in go.mod, extract each path-bearing
  g.Meta into a route node (requires path:, so response mime:-only tags are
  skipped), encoding the package-qualified request type for the join.
- goframe-synthesizer.ts: join each route -> the controller method whose
  signature takes that request type — NOT by name (DeptSearchReq is served by
  List) — keyed pkg.Type to disambiguate the many identical bare names a large
  app defines one-per-module, with an addon-root tiebreak for cloned demo addons.
  Edge kind calls, provenance heuristic, synthesizedBy goframe-route, surfaced as
  a dynamic-dispatch hop in codegraph_explore.

Validated on real repos: gf-demo-user 7/7, gfast 65/68 (3 genuinely
handler-less), hotgo 242/247 (98%) — 100% precision (0 non-controller handlers,
0 core/addon cross-binding), node count stable. Agent A/B (gfast, sonnet/high,
2 runs/arm): with codegraph 1 explore call / 0 Read / ~20s vs without 7.5 Read
avg + grep-hunting for the non-existent literal route string / ~42s; same correct
answer.

Colby McHenryandClaude Opus 4.8 64426cad93 fix(react): recognize forwardRef/memo/styled components + index JSX-file routes (#841)
forwardRef/memo/styled-wrapped component consts were classified as plain
`constant` nodes (the initializer is a call/tagged-template, not a bare arrow),
so the JSX-render synthesizer and component resolution skipped them — callers
and impact returned empty for the entire shadcn/ui-style UI layer. Recognize
them in the tree-sitter extractor as `component` nodes (correct body range +
callee capture), PascalCase-gated so a memoization util stays a constant.

Separately, the `react` resolver's `languages` lacked 'tsx'/'jsx', so its
`extract()` never ran on JSX files — React Router `<Route>`/createBrowserRouter
and Next.js page routes (which only live in .tsx/.jsx) were never indexed. Add
'tsx'/'jsx' and make `extract()` route-only: the component/hook regex it carried
duplicated tree-sitter nodes (a `useAuth` became two `function` nodes) and is
fully superseded by the extractor now.

Validated before/after: taxonomy 0->99 component nodes (35 w/ callers) + 1->15
routes; radix 0->262 components (80 w/ callers); cypress-realworld-app 45->52
routes (7 <Route> tags from .tsx); non-React control unchanged; node count
stable. New tests: react-hoc-component.test.ts + a route e2e in
frameworks-integration.test.ts.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.8 823ffd1c3d feat(extraction+resolution): Astro support — frontmatter/template extraction + src/pages routes (#768) (#815)
.astro files were not indexed at all, leaving a typical Astro site mostly
invisible to search/impact/explore. New AstroExtractor (Svelte/Vue SFC
pattern): component node per file, TS frontmatter + <script> blocks
delegated to the TypeScript extractor, template {fn(...)} calls (incl. the
multiline `{posts.map((post) => (` opening line), PascalCase component-tag
references. New astroResolver: Astro global + astro:* virtual modules as
framework-provided, component resolution with the #764 ambiguity rule,
src/pages/ file-based routes ([param]→:param, [...rest]→*rest, _-prefixed
and *.config.* excluded). SFC languages now preload the TS/JS grammars
their extractors delegate to (a pure-SFC file set previously had none
loaded). Also fixes a pre-existing Svelte/Vue script-block off-by-one that
reported every script symbol one line low.

Validated per the playbook: stalux (the issue's repro) 54/54 .astro files
indexed, getIconNode found at its exact line, 14/14 routes, 93.0% fair
cross-file coverage; AstroPaper 27/27 components, 13/13 routes (underscore
dirs correctly excluded), explore connects page→Card→Datetime through the
jsx-render synthesizer; node/edge counts stable across re-syncs.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.8 763ee9c825 fix(resolution): Svelte/Vue component resolvers get the #764 ambiguity rule (#814)
Follow-up to #813: the React resolver's blind components[0] fallback was
the demonstrated wrong-edge source, but the Svelte and Vue resolvers had
the same flaw in their own shape:

- svelte: resolveComponent fell back to components[0] across the whole
  repo when no same-directory match existed — an arbitrary pick among
  same-named components in a multi-app monorepo.
- vue: resolveComponent returned the FIRST basename-matching .vue file
  found anywhere in the tree; its same-directory pass below was
  unreachable dead code. apps/a/Button.vue vs apps/b/Button.vue was a
  file-enumeration-order coin flip.

Both now follow the #764 rule: same-directory first, otherwise only an
UNAMBIGUOUS name resolves — ambiguity falls through to the name-matcher's
proximity scoring instead of guessing.

Safety: zero-delta A/B on the README's own framework benchmark repos
(sveltejs/realworld — the 100% Svelte coverage repo — and nuxt/movies,
93.5% Vue coverage) plus the excalidraw control: node counts identical,
zero calls or references edges changed. Single-app repos have unique
component names, so the rule only bites where the old behavior was
already a coin flip. Full suite 1398 passed.

Also verified the #813 per-definition tool grouping is language-agnostic
(probed Go same-named functions across packages — grouped identically to
the TS fixture).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.8 222af6b87c fix(mcp+resolution): stop conflating same-named symbols across monorepo apps (#764) (#813)
A NestJS-style monorepo has one UserService/UserModule/UserRepository per
app; with no package concept for TS they share one global name scope and
agents visibly warned that CodeGraph was mixing unrelated classes.

Two distinct problems, two fixes:

1. TOOL AGGREGATION. callers/callees returned one merged list across every
   same-named match, and impact merged all their blast radii into a single
   overstated subgraph. Now: matches group into DISTINCT DEFINITIONS
   (filePath + qualifiedName — same-file overloads still merge, that's the
   overload feature) and render one file-labeled section per definition;
   a new `file` argument (path or suffix, like codegraph_node's) narrows
   to one definition, suppressing the stale aggregation note; a
   non-matching `file` falls back to all definitions with a note.
   server-instructions documents the behavior.

2. RESOLUTION WRONG EDGES. Auditing a real monorepo (amplication, 54k
   nodes) found 1,036 cross-package `references` edges into duplicated
   names. Root cause: the React framework resolver ran PascalCase
   component resolution on refs from PLAIN .ts FILES (a GraphQL types
   file's own `Account` type alias lost to an arbitrary same-named CLASS
   in another package — the resolver's blind `components[0]` fallback at
   confidence 0.8 outranked the name-matcher's proximity-correct 0.7).
   Component resolution is now gated to JSX-capable refs (tsx/jsx) and
   never guesses among multiple candidates without a positional signal
   (same-dir / component-dir / unique). Cross-package wrong edges:
   1,036 -> 40 (-96%; the remainder are genuine shared-model imports and
   codegen template scaffolds), with the freed refs re-resolving to the
   correct same-file/same-package targets. excalidraw (a real React repo)
   is a zero-delta control — legitimate component refs all carry
   same-dir/component-dir signals.

Graph-level separation was verified correct on a fixture before any
changes (import + proximity resolution keeps apps apart) — the conflation
was tool-level plus the react-resolver edge class.

Tests: 6-test e2e suite (grouped callers/callees, per-definition impact
radii, file narrowing, fallback note, cross-app edge isolation) + react
resolver unit tests updated to production reality (tsx refs resolve,
plain-ts refs decline). Full suite 1398 passed. EXTRACTION_VERSION
23 -> 24 (re-index to drop the wrong cross-package edges).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.8 112e278b5c fix(security): index config files by key only, never surface values (#383) (#722)
Spring `application.{properties,yml}` keys (and Shopify Liquid `{% schema %}`
blocks) were storing the config VALUE in the node docstring, and
`codegraph_explore`'s source section re-read the raw `key = value` line off
disk — so a secret committed to a config file (DB password, API key, JDBC URL
with embedded credentials) could be pushed into an agent's context via
explore/node output without the agent ever opening the file.

Config-leaf nodes (`kind: 'constant'` in a config language) now surface the KEY
only, via a shared `isConfigLeafNode` predicate applied at both surfacing
paths: the value is dropped from extraction, `getCode`/`includeCode` returns
the key instead of the file line, and explore excludes config leaves from
source rendering. The predicate can't match real code (real constants are
ts/java/go/…), so `@Value`/`@ConfigurationProperties` resolution and impact are
unaffected. Adds a regression test asserting a planted secret never appears in
`codegraph_explore` / `codegraph_node` output while the keys still resolve.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.7 2543ae565a feat(java): trace Spring/MyBatis enterprise flow end-to-end (#389) (#468)
Closes three gaps that broke `trace(controller, mapper-xml)` on real Spring +
MyBatis projects:

1. **Field-injected concrete-bean trace.** Java `this.<field>.method()` is
   unwrapped at extraction (was surfaced as `this.<field>.method` and dropped
   through every name-matcher strategy). The receiver name is then looked up
   in the enclosing class's field declarations to get the declared type and
   resolve the method on it. Closes the controller→bean hop when the field
   name doesn't capitalize to the type (`userbo` → `UserBO`). General Java
   fix, not Spring-specific.

2. **MyBatis XML mapper as a first-class language.** New extractor parses
   `<mapper namespace="..."><select|insert|update|delete|sql id="X">` and
   emits method-shaped nodes qualified as `<namespace>::<id>`, plus
   `<include refid="X"/>` references to `<sql>` fragments. Non-mapper XML
   (pom, log4j, web.xml) → file node only. A new synthesizer
   (`mybatisJavaXmlEdges`) joins Java mapper methods to XML statements by
   suffix-matching qualified names. Ambiguous simple-name collisions dropped
   for precision.

3. **Spring `@Value`/`@ConfigurationProperties` → application config.**
   `application.{yml,yaml,properties}` + profile variants parse on the
   framework path; each leaf key becomes a `constant` node qualified by its
   dotted path. `@Value("${k}")` / `@Value("${k:default}")` and
   `@ConfigurationProperties(prefix="X")` emit binding nodes that resolve
   with Spring's relaxed binding (kebab↔camel↔snake).

Validated on macrozheng/mall-tiny: full chain
`UmsRoleController.listResource → UmsRoleService.listResource → impl →
UmsResourceMapper.getResourceListByRoleId → XML <select>` connects across 5
hops via static + synthesized edges. 11/11 @Value annotations resolved
(incl. `@ConfigurationProperties(prefix="secure.ignored")`); 6/6 custom-SQL
mapper methods bridge to XML.

Tests: 4 new integration tests in frameworks-integration.test.ts. Full
suite: 1005 passed.

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.7 8876defbc1 fix(nestjs): propagate RouterModule.register prefixes to controller routes (#459) (#460)
NestJS's RouterModule lets apps compose modular route prefixes across files
(`RouterModule.register([{ path: 'admin', module: AdminModule, children: [...] }])`
in `app.module.ts` sets the prefix for controllers declared in another file's
`@Controller()`). The per-file `extract()` only sees one file at a time, so a
`UsersController` indexed in isolation showed up as `GET /` instead of
`GET /admin/users`.

Add an optional cross-file `postExtract(context)` hook to FrameworkResolver,
called by the orchestrator once after each `indexAll` and after every
incremental `sync` that touched files. The nestjs implementation:

  * walks every `*.module.{ts,js}` for `RouterModule.{register,forRoot,forChild}([...])`
    and recursively resolves `children` into `Module → /full/prefix`,
  * walks `@Module({ controllers: [...] })` for `Controller → Module`,
  * matches each route node against its controller's class line range
    (multi-controller files keep getting attributed correctly), and
  * rewrites `name` while preserving `id` (route→handler edges intact) and
    `qualifiedName` (still encodes the *original* in-file path, which keeps
    the pass idempotent on a re-sync — `app.module.ts` edits propagate to
    controllers in unchanged files without double-prefixing).

End-to-end validated against the exact reproduction in #459 (admin children
users) — all four routes (`GET /admin`, `GET /admin/users`,
`GET /admin/users/:id`, `POST /admin/users`) resolve correctly, edits to the
RouterModule tree re-propagate on the next sync, and route→handler edges in
`codegraph context` are preserved.

Colby Mchenry 4d1a2b3c4d feat(resolution): mixed iOS / React Native / Expo cross-language bridging (#430)
Implements the design from `docs/design/mixed-ios-and-react-native-bridging.md`.
Closes the cross-language flow gap so `trace` / `callers` / `callees` / `impact` connect end-to-end across language boundaries in real iOS, React Native, and Expo codebases.

## Bridges shipped

## Bug fixes surfaced along the way

- `tree-sitter.ts` message_expression — multi-keyword ObjC call sites now reconstruct `a🅱️` selectors so they resolve to multi-part method definitions (gap discovered post-#165; 0 → 84 call edges to `GET:parameters:...` style methods on AFNetworking).
- `src/index.ts` resolver lifecycle — `indexAll()` now re-initializes the resolver after extraction so framework `detect()` sees the populated index. Pre-existing latent bug that affected UIKit and SwiftUI resolvers too.
- `src/extraction/index.ts` `buildDetectionContext` — added `listDirectories` so framework detect() can probe monorepo subpackages uniformly (fix needed for react-native-skia detection).

## Regression check on 5 control repos

| Repo | Result |
|---|---|
| Express (small JS) | ✅ unchanged — 266 routes, express framework detected |
| Excalidraw (medium TS/React) | ✅ 9284 nodes (CLAUDE.md baseline ~9290); canonical `trace(mutateElement, renderStaticScene)` returns the flow |
| Django realworld (Python) | ✅ django framework detected, 16 routes |
| Spring petclinic (Java) | ✅ spring framework detected, 17 routes |
| Texture (pure ObjC, large) | ✅ exactly matches #165 baseline: 4702 methods, 894 classes, 808/808 file coverage, 913 multi-keyword selectors, 55 protocols, 1036 properties |

## Tests

928 passing (+87 net new bridge tests across the 5 channels); 2 pre-existing skips. The mcp-staleness-banner / watcher parallel flakiness is unchanged by this work (different test fails each run, all pass in isolation; pre-existing on main).

Colby MchenryandClaude Opus 4.7 025ebc88d6 Release 0.9.4: framework-aware routing + dynamic-dispatch coverage + retrieval improvements (#365)
* feat(resolution): close dynamic-dispatch coverage holes (callback synthesis + django ORM)

Static tree-sitter extraction misses calls whose target is computed or indirect,
so flows through callbacks, observers, and descriptors were absent from the graph.

- callback-synthesizer.ts: whole-graph pass after base resolution. Detects
  registrar/dispatcher channels (field-backed observers + string-keyed
  EventEmitters), correlates registration sites, and synthesizes
  dispatcher->callback `calls` edges (provenance:'heuristic'). Records the
  registration site (registeredAt) in edge metadata. Precision guards: named
  handlers only, registrar-name match, event fan-out cap.
- frameworks/python.ts + resolution/{index,types}.ts: claimsReference hook +
  django ORM resolver (_iterable_class -> ModelIterable.__iter__).
- extraction/tree-sitter.ts: extract named nested functions so inline named
  handlers become linkable nodes.

trace(mutateElement, triggerRender) and trace(_fetch_all, execute_sql) now
connect; node count stable (no explosion).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(mcp): self-sufficient flow output + fix explore budget regression

- Surface synthesized-edge evidence in trace, the node trail, and context call
  paths: a dynamic-dispatch hop now shows "callback via onUpdate @App.tsx:3148"
  with the registration site inline (and trace inlines each hop's call-site
  source line) -- the exact glue agents previously Read/Grep'd to reconstruct.
- Fix non-monotonic explore output budget: the 500-5000 file tier capped
  maxCharsPerFile at 2500, BELOW the <500 tier's 3800, so on god-file projects
  (excalidraw's 415 KB App.tsx) one explore returned <1% of the file and forced
  a Read. Raised to 6500/file, 28000 total.
- Stop explore from inviting Read: truncation/trim notes said "use Read for
  more"; they now steer to another codegraph_explore and treat returned source
  as already Read.

Measured on excalidraw: best-case flow answer went from 5 reads / 131s to
0 reads / 73s with ~3-4 codegraph calls.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* chore(agent-eval): coverage probes, block-read hook, and design docs

Dev-only validation harness for the dynamic-dispatch coverage work:
- probe-{trace,node,context,explore}.mjs: drive MCP tools against a built index
  without a full agent run.
- block-read-hook.sh + hook-settings.json: PreToolUse experiment that denies
  source Reads to measure codegraph sufficiency (forced Read-0).
- docs/design/: callback-edge-synthesis + dynamic-dispatch-coverage playbook.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): bridge React boundaries — re-render + JSX child synthesis

Closes the two dynamic-dispatch hops that broke "state mutation -> on-screen
render" flows in React apps. Both are call-invisible (React-internal) but the
code between them is fully call-connected, so one synthesized edge each makes the
whole flow trace end-to-end.

- reactRenderEdges: setState(...) re-runs the component's render(). For each
  class with a render method, link sibling methods calling this.setState ->
  render. The setState gate keeps it to React class components.
- reactJsxChildEdges: a component that returns <Child .../> mounts Child. Link
  parent -> each capitalized JSX child, resolved to a component/function/class
  node (the resolution gate drops TS generics like Array<Foo>). File-oriented,
  capped per parent.
- Surface both in synthEdgeNote (trace + node trail) and context call-paths.

Validated on excalidraw: trace(mutateElement, renderStaticScene) now connects in
6 hops across callback -> react-render -> jsx-child; 1 + 46 + 280 synthesized
edges, node count stable (no explosion). Partial coverage is worse than none:
react-render alone raised agent reads (revealed a hop it then drilled); adding
the jsx hop closed the flow and dropped reads to 0-1.

* docs(claude): retrieval performance contract + coverage validation methodology

Add a "Retrieval performance & dynamic-dispatch coverage" section so future
changes/PRs don't silently regress agent retrieval:
- the explore call+output budget table by repo size, with the monotonic-per-file
  invariant (the bug that started this: <5000 tier's 2500 < <500 tier's 3800).
- the "partial coverage is worse than none" principle.
- the required validation methodology (small/medium/large x >=3 prompts per
  language x framework; deterministic probes + agent A/B; pass bar).
- the Excalidraw worked example (before/after numbers) as the template to
  replicate for every language/framework.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(claude): use full n=4 measured range in Excalidraw worked example

Best run 0 Read/3 cg/76s; typical ~1 Read/~4 cg; occasional over-drill outlier.
Report the range, not a single run — run-to-run variance is large.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(mcp): steer flow questions to codegraph_trace first (tightens variance)

codegraph_trace was absent from every steering intent map — all three guidance
files routed "how does X reach Y" to context+explore, never to the trace tool.
So agents used trace only by chance; when one didn't, it floundered
reconstructing the path with search+callers (an 18-call run vs ~6 for trace-users).

Add codegraph_trace to the intent map + a "flow" common chain (trace from->to
FIRST = the whole path in one call, then ONE explore for bodies) across all three
synced files (server-instructions, instructions-template, .cursor rule).

Validated on excalidraw (hard "to the screen" Q, n=4 before/after):
- call count 3-10 -> 3-4 (over-drill outlier gone)
- duration 64-112s -> 51-74s
- trace adoption 3/4 -> 4/4; search+callers path-reconstruction -> 0
- fully-clean runs (0 Read, 0 Grep) 0/4 -> 2/4; best 3 cg / 0 / 0 / 51s

* feat(resolution): Vue SFC template coverage (events + kebab components)

The .vue extractor only parses <script>, so template usage is invisible —
handlers and kebab child components used only in <template> have no edge. Add a
vueTemplateEdges channel (scoped to the <template> block of .vue files):
- event bindings: @click="onClick" / v-on:submit="save" -> handler method/function
  (skips inline arrows and $emit; resolves same-file first to avoid cross-app
  mis-match in monorepos).
- kebab child components: <el-button> -> ElButton (PascalCase children like
  <VPNav/> are already caught by the JSX channel via the SFC component node).

Surface vue-handler in synthEdgeNote (trace/node trail) + context call-paths.

Validated on vue repos (reindex, no node explosion):
- vue-handler edges: vitepress 15, vben 404, element-plus 603 — all precise
  (code-login @submit -> handleLogin, register @submit -> handleSubmit, ...).
- callers(handleLogin) now includes the login component (was 0); each monorepo
  app's login resolves to its own same-file handler.
- composition: PascalCase + kebab work; element-plus's el-/filename naming
  (el-button -> button.vue) is a known library-prefix limitation.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record Vue validation in coverage matrix + limits

Vue / Nuxt row → ✅ template events + composition (vitepress S / vben M /
element-plus L); 🔬 reactive→render (vue-core Proxy runtime, deferred).

§7: Vue results + the two real limits — composable-destructure handlers
(@click="closeSidebar" from useSidebarControl, a data-flow frontier) and
prefix-convention kebab (el-button→button.vue). Agent reads dropped in every
size; strongest where handlers are local functions.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): resolve Vue composable-destructure template handlers

@click="closeSidebar" where `const { close: closeSidebar } = useSidebarControl()`
previously didn't resolve — the handler is a destructured composable return, not a
local fn node. Now: parse the SFC's `use*()` destructures into alias→{composable,
key}, and for an unresolved template handler follow alias → composable → the
returned member (`close`) defined in the composable's file. Precise-only: no
fallback to the composable itself (the component already has a static useX() call
edge), so we add an edge only when the specific returned fn is found.

Validated: vitepress Layout @click→close / @open-menu→open (in composables/
sidebar.ts); sidebar-flow agent run dropped 6→0 reads (best case). element-plus's
fallback-only matches correctly drop to 0; node counts stable; direct handlers
(vben handleLogin) unaffected.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): composable-destructure handlers now resolved (Vue)

@click="closeSidebar" → composable returned fn; vitepress sidebar 6→0 reads.
Remaining Vue limits: prefix-convention kebab + reactive→render frontier.

* feat(extraction): extract function-valued properties of exported-const objects

`export const actions = { default: async () => {...} }` (SvelteKit form actions,
and general JS handler/route/reducer maps) left the arrow functions unextracted —
the walker skips object-literal functions (deliberately, to avoid inline-object
noise like `ctx.set({...})`). So an action's body (and its calls) was invisible.

Now: for an EXPORTED const whose initializer is an object literal, extract each
function-valued property (arrow / function expression) as a function named by its
key and walk its body. extractFunction gains a nameOverride so ONLY this explicit
path names pair-arrows — inline-object arrows reached by the general walker still
fall through to the <anonymous> skip, so no noise returns. JS/TS-gated.

Validated: fixtures extract the actions + walk bodies (default→helper, default→
api.post resolve); SvelteKit detection doesn't break it. Blast radius tiny:
excalidraw +1 node, Python (django) +0, Vue repos +0, realworld +11 (the actions).

Known residual: a `$lib`-alias namespace-member call (`api.post`) from an extracted
action node doesn't resolve even though the same alias resolves for `load` — a
deeper resolver interaction, separate from this extraction change. Local/relative
calls from actions connect fine.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record Svelte validation (already well-covered) + actions fix

Svelte/SvelteKit row → already strong (template calls/composition/namespace/load);
+ exported-const object-of-functions extraction. Lesson: measure before assuming
a hole — modern Svelte barely uses on:click={fn}; Svelte needed far less than Vue.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): connect Express inline arrow route handlers to their services

The Express resolver created route nodes but linked handlers via a single regex
whose `[^)]+` broke on inline arrows — so `router.post('/x', async (req,res) =>
{...})` (the dominant modern pattern) connected to NOTHING, and the anonymous
handler's body (the actual request→service flow) was lost. The whole inline-handler
API was unreachable: e.g. realworld's `POST /users/login` route → 0 edges.

Now: match the route head, span the full call with a string-aware balanced-paren
scan, and for an inline arrow handler extract its body's calls (string-aware brace
scan) and attribute them to the route node as `calls` edges. A RESERVED denylist
drops res/req/builtin methods (json, next, status, ...) to keep only business calls.
Named-handler routes keep the existing reference behavior.

Validated: realworld POST /users/login → login (auth.service); 19 precise
route→service edges (was 0) — POST /articles→createArticle, .../favorite→
favoriteArticle, etc., no json/next noise. ghost +65 inline-handler edges. No node
explosion (ghost 40767, parse 3394 unchanged). Framework-scoped: zero blast radius
off Express.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record Express validation (inline-handler fix)

Express/Koa row → resolver already handled named handlers; the real hole was
inline arrow route handlers (router.post('/x', async (req,res)=>{...})) — fixed:
route→service body calls (realworld 19 / ghost 65 edges, no explosion). Agent A/B
muddied by repo size (realworld tiny) / complexity (ghost layered API). Lesson
inverse of Svelte: Express's dominant pattern WAS the uncovered one.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record NestJS validation (already well-covered)

NestJS row → resolver handles @decorator routes; DI controller→service
(this.svc.method) resolves correctly at scale (immich: addUsersToAlbum→addUsers,
etc.). Agent A/B: codegraph eliminated Grep (0 vs 3). No dynamic-dispatch hole.
Surfaced a general hygiene gap (not NestJS): committed dist/ build output gets
indexed (no default build-dir ignore) — narrow (real apps gitignore dist/),
deferred as a core-indexer follow-up.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): Rails RESTful resources routing → controller#action

The rails resolver only saw explicit `get '/x' => 'c#a'` routes, so apps using
the dominant `resources :articles` / `resource :user` RESTful routing had ZERO
route nodes (realworld + spree: 0 routes despite full routes.rb files). The whole
request→controller flow was disconnected.

Fix (frameworks/ruby.ts):
- extract: expand `resources`/`resource` into their REST actions (only/except
  filters; pluralize the singular `resource :user` → users_controller), emit a
  precise `controller#action` ref per action. Explicit routes now also reference
  `controller#action` instead of a bare ambiguous `action`.
- resolve: new `controller#action` pattern → the action method in
  <ctrl>_controller.rb (file convention + controller-class fallback).
- claimsReference: claim `controller#action` refs so resolveOne's pre-filter
  doesn't drop them before resolve() runs (same hook the django ORM work needed —
  these refs name no declared symbol).

Validated: realworld 0→16, forem 0→635 precise route→action edges (GET /articles→
index, resource :user→users#show, etc.), pluralization correct, no node explosion
(route nodes proportional to resources). Agent A/B (forem, large): with codegraph
1-4 reads / 0 grep / 47-53s vs without 4-5 reads / 2-3 grep / 66-85s. Framework-
scoped (zero blast radius off Rails). Residuals: Rails Engine routing (spree
mounts an engine), ActiveRecord dynamic finders (metaprogramming frontier).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): Spring bare + class-prefixed route mappings → controller method

The Spring resolver required a string path in the mapping regex, so BARE method
mappings (`@PostMapping` with the path on the class-level `@RequestMapping`) were
missed — the dominant multi-method-controller pattern. realworld's two-action
ArticleFavoriteApi only linked one method; halo had 28 routes for 2444 files.

Fix (frameworks/java.ts):
- Treat class-level `@RequestMapping` as a PREFIX (not a bogus route) and join it
  onto each method's path.
- Match verb-specific mappings (@GetMapping/@PostMapping/...) BARE or with a path.
- Also handle method-level `@RequestMapping(value=..., method=RequestMethod.X)`
  (older style) — restored after an initial cut dropped it (mall regressed 292→1;
  caught by the regression check).

Validated: realworld 13→19, mall 246 (all precise, class prefix joined:
GET /subject/listAll→listAll, POST /articles/{slug}/favorite→favoriteArticle +
DELETE→unfavoriteArticle), no node explosion. DI controller→service resolves
(article→findBySlug, updateArticle→canWriteArticle). Agent A/B (mall cart flow):
with codegraph 0 reads/0 grep vs without 2/2. Residuals: halo's complex custom
patterns (9/29 resolve); Spring Data JPA derived queries (metaprogramming frontier).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record Spring validation (bare-mapping routing fix)

Spring row → bare @GetMapping/@PostMapping + class @RequestMapping prefix join →
route→method (realworld 13→19, mall →246); DI controller→service resolves. A
first cut regressed mall 292→1 (dropped @RequestMapping-on-method), caught by the
route-count regression check. Residuals: halo custom patterns, JPA derived queries.

* feat(resolution): Django DRF router.register → ViewSet

Django's ORM (_iterable_class, prior work) and URL routing (path/url/as_view→view)
were already covered. The remaining hole: DRF `router.register(r'articles',
ArticleViewSet)` — the core CRUD endpoints — wasn't extracted (only path()/url()),
so a DRF API's main resources connected to nothing (realworld's ArticleViewSet:
0 callers).

Fix (frameworks/python.ts): match `.register(r'prefix', XViewSet)` → route→ViewSet
class. The STRING first arg distinguishes DRF router.register from
`admin.site.register(Model, Admin)` (model class first arg); View/ViewSet suffix
keeps it to viewsets. The ViewSet class resolves via the existing View/ViewSet
pattern.

Validated: realworld VIEWSET /articles → ArticleViewSet (was 0). Narrow in corpus
(realworld 1 router; wagtail=path, saleor=GraphQL) but real for DRF-router APIs.
Agent A/B (wagtail Page flow, medium): with codegraph 4-7 reads / 1-4 grep / 58-81s
vs without 7-9 reads / 6 grep / 82-86s. No regression (wagtail/saleor route counts
unchanged — purely additive). Residuals: signals, DRF inherited viewset actions,
GraphQL resolvers.

* feat(resolution): Laravel route → precise Controller@method (not bare action)

extractLaravelHandler discarded the controller: `Route::get([UserController::class,
'index'])` and `'UserController@index'` both emitted a BARE `index` ref. With the
route in routes/api.php (not the controller file), name-matching mis-resolved every
common action to the WRONG controller — realworld's GET user → ArticleController.index
(should be UserController), GET articles/feed → ArticleController (should be
FeedController), etc. The routes existed but pointed at the wrong handler.

Fix (frameworks/laravel.ts): emit precise `Controller@method` (array + string
syntax, namespace-stripped) and `claimsReference` it so resolveOne's pre-filter
doesn't drop it before Pattern-4 resolveControllerMethod runs (the recurring hook,
also needed by django ORM + Rails routing).

Validated: realworld all routes now resolve to the correct controller; bookstack
267/332 precise (GET pages → PageApiController.list, array syntax). No node
explosion. Agent A/B (bookstack page-view, large): with codegraph 2-3 reads / 1-2
grep / 51-60s vs without 4-6 / 3-5 / 60-74s. Residuals: firefly's fluent
->uses()/['uses'=>...] handler format (3/568 resolve), Eloquent dynamic finders.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): Gin/chi routes on group vars (any receiver, not just r/router)

The route regex matched only `(router|r|mux|app|e).METHOD(...)`, but real Gin/chi
apps route on GROUP variables — `v1.GET`, `PublicGroup.GET`, `userRouter.POST` —
so group-routed apps connected almost nothing: gin-vue-admin had 4 routes for 625
files. Broaden the receiver to ANY identifier; the verb + string-path + handler-arg
gates keep it route-specific (e.g. `http.Get(url)` has no handler arg, so it's
excluded).

Validated: gin-vue-admin 4→259 routes, 257 resolve precisely (POST createInfo→
CreateInfo, GET getInfoList→GetInfoList); realworld stable 24→25 (no regression);
no garbage (257/259 resolve, not false positives), node count proportional. gitness
(chi, custom handlers) is a residual (26/321). Inline `func(c *gin.Context){...}`
handlers still lose their body (anonymous, like Express was) — separate residual.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record Gin validation (group-var routing fix)

Gin/chi row → routes on ANY group var (v1.GET/PublicGroup.GET), not just r/router
(gin-vue-admin 4→259 routes). Agent A/B: 0 reads/0 grep/26-30s vs 3/3/52-53s —
cleanest backend win yet. Residuals: inline func handlers, gitness chi custom.

* feat(resolution): ASP.NET feature-folder detection + bare attribute routes

Two holes left ASP.NET apps disconnected:
1. detect() only fired on a /Controllers/ dir, root Program.cs/Startup.cs, or a
   .csproj (which often isn't in the indexed source set). Feature-folder apps
   (realworld: Features/*/FooController.cs, subdir Program.cs) were never detected
   → 0 routes despite a full set of controllers. Broaden: scan Controller/Program/
   Startup .cs source for ASP.NET signatures ([ApiController]/[Route]/[Http*],
   ControllerBase, MapControllers, WebApplication, Microsoft.AspNetCore).
2. The attribute regex required a string path, so BARE [HttpGet] (route on the
   class [Route("[controller]")]) was missed — eShopOnWeb was 24 bare / 2 string.
   Match bare-or-with-path + join the class [Route] prefix (like the Spring fix).

No claimsReference needed: ASP.NET attribute routes are co-located IN the controller
with the action, so the bare method-name ref resolves same-file.

Validated: realworld 0→19 routes (all precise: GET /articles→Get, POST /articles→
Create, class prefix joined), eShopOnWeb 9→33. Route→action correct + co-located.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(playbook): record ASP.NET validation (detection + bare-attribute fix)

ASP.NET Core row → feature-folder detection (realworld 0→19, was undetected) +
bare [HttpGet] / class [Route] prefix (eShopOnWeb 9→33, jellyfin 362→399). No
claimsReference needed (routes co-located in controller). Agent A/B (eShop): 1-2
reads/0 grep vs 6-7/1-6. Residual: EF Core LINQ.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): Flask/FastAPI route holes + Python builtin-name handler guard

Three fixes that connect the request→route→handler flow for Flask and
FastAPI. Validated S/L: fastapi-realworld 12→20, flask-microblog 6→27,
Netflix dispatch 290/290 (100%), redash decorator routes 6/6; canonical
flows trace end-to-end (login→get_user_by_email, create_user→from_dict).

- Flask: the route regex required `def` immediately after `@x.route(...)`,
  so an intervening decorator (@login_required, @cache.cached) or stacked
  @x.route lines (one view bound to several URLs) dropped the route.
  Switch to the findHandler scan (match the decorator, then find the next
  def) like FastAPI — skips intervening decorators.
- FastAPI: the path regex `[^'"]+` rejected the empty path `@router.get("")`
  (router/prefix-root routes, frequently multi-line). Allow empty path +
  guard the route name against a trailing space.
- Python builtin-name guard (src/resolution/index.ts): a handler named
  after a Python builtin method (index/get/update/count…) was filtered by
  isBuiltInOrExternal and lost its route→handler edge. Mirror the
  dotted-method branch's knownNames guard onto the bare branch — a bare
  name a declared symbol owns is a real target, not a builtin call.
  +2 legit edges on realworld, 0 change on the django control (precision held).

Tests: new Flask (intervening/stacked decorator) and FastAPI (empty-path,
multi-line) extractor cases + a Flask end-to-end integration test (a view
named `index` behind @login_required). Also corrects 6 pre-existing stale
Laravel/Rails route-ref assertions surfaced by the suite — they expected
the old bare action name, but the resolvers now emit precise
controller@action / controller#action (from earlier precision commits).
Full suite green (781 passed).

* feat(resolution): Drupal route-handler resolution (claimsReference, single-colon controllers, contrib detection)

The *.routing.yml extractor and _controller/_form resolver existed but two
gaps left most routes unlinked. Validated S/M/L: admin_toolbar 0→14 (14/14),
webform 144/208, drupal-core 536→731/836 (87%); canonical flow traverses
(getAnnouncements ← /admin/announcements_feed); node count unchanged.

- claimsReference: Drupal handler refs are FQCNs (\Drupal\…\Class::method),
  bare form classes (\…\SettingsForm), or single-colon controller-services
  (\…\Controller:method). Only the ::method shape survived resolveOne's
  pre-filter (its member is a known method name); the bare-FQCN forms and
  single-colon controllers were dropped before resolve() ran. Claim FQCN /
  Class:method / hook_* refs (same pattern as Rails controller#action).
- Single-colon controller match: broaden the controller regex from :: to
  :{1,2} and tighten the _form branch to !name.includes(':').
- Detection: detect() only checked composer `require` for a drupal/* dep, but
  a contrib module often has an empty require and is identified only by
  "name":"drupal/<m>" + "type":"drupal-module" (admin_toolbar → 0 routes).
  Broaden to composer name/type + a *.info.yml fallback.

Remaining unresolved is the entity-annotation handler frontier
(_entity_form: type.op) and OOP #[Hook] attributes (Drupal 11 moved ~all
procedural hooks to attribute methods — out of scope here). Tests: contrib
detection, *.info.yml fallback, claimsReference, single-colon controller.

* feat(resolution): Axum chained methods + namespaced handlers

The Axum route extractor used a flat regex that captured only the first
method(handler) of a .route() call and only a bare \w+ handler, so two
dominant Axum idioms broke:
- method chains: .route("/user", get(get_current_user).put(update_user))
  emitted no node for the .put arm — half the API was missing.
- namespaced handlers: get(listing::feed_articles) captured `listing`
  (the module), so the route resolved to nothing.

Rewrite with a balanced-paren scan of each .route(...) call, a route node
per chained method, and last-::-segment handler names. realworld-axum
12→19 routes, 19/19 resolved (every chained PUT/DELETE/POST now present,
feed_articles resolves). Rocket needed nothing (550/556, 99%, attribute
macros); crates.io confirms namespaced axum handlers resolve.

Residual frontier: actix runtime routing web::get().to(handler) (the
dominant actix style, unextracted; attribute macros 35/51). Fix is
Axum-scoped — the attribute/actix/Rocket path is untouched. Tests: chained
methods + multi-line namespaced handler. Full suite green (789 passed).

* feat(resolution): Vapor grouped/RouteCollection routing (was 0 routes on real apps)

The Vapor extractor only matched (app|router|routes).METHOD("path", use:
handler), but real Vapor apps route on a grouped builder inside
RouteCollection.boot(routes:): `let todos = routes.grouped("todos");
todos.get(use: index)` — any var receiver, no path arg (the path is the
group prefix). Every real app tested extracted 0 routes (template,
SteamPress, SwiftPackageIndex-Server, penny-bot, Feather).

Rewrite the extractor:
- any receiver (\w+), not just app/router/routes;
- optional path segments that may be non-string (User.parameter, :id, a
  path constant) — the `use:` keyword discriminates a route from
  Environment.get("X") / req.parameters.get("X");
- a group-prefix map from `let X = Y.grouped("a")` and
  `Y.group("a") { X in }` so a grouped/nested route gets its full path
  (todo.delete(use: delete) -> DELETE /todos/:todoID).

Result: vapor-template 0→3 (3/3, nested path exact), SteamPress 0→27
(27/27), SwiftPackageIndex-Server 0→14 (14/14 handler resolution).
Canonical flow traverses (createPostHandler <- GET /createPost ->
createPostView). Route names now carry a leading slash (GET /users),
consistent with the other frameworks.

Frontier: typed-route enums (SPI's SiteURL.x.pathComponents — handler
resolves, path label only) and closure handlers (app.get("x"){ } —
anonymous). Tests: grouped RouteCollection, self.handler + non-string
segments, use:-discriminator. Full suite green (792 passed).

* feat(resolution): React Router <Route> JSX route extraction

react.ts extracted components/hooks and Next.js file routes but returned
references: [], so React Router <Route> declarations produced no route
nodes or route→component edges. Add <Route> JSX extraction: scan a window
after each <Route (so the nested > in element={<Comp/>} doesn't truncate
the match), pull path="…" + component={C} (v5) or element={<C/>} (v6) in
any attribute order, emit a route node + component reference (resolved by
the existing PascalCase resolveComponent). The <Routes> container is
excluded via the \b boundary.

react-realworld 0→10 routes, 10/10 resolved (/login→Login,
/editor/:slug→Editor, /@:username→Profile). No regression on excalidraw
(9,290 nodes, 46 react-render synth edges intact, 0 false routes). Tests:
v5 component=, v6 element=, <Routes>-container guard. Suite green (794).

Frontier: object data-router createBrowserRouter([{path,element}]) (modern
v6) is object-based not JSX — not covered.

* feat(resolution): actix-web builder-API routing (web::resource / .to(handler))

Actix's attribute macros were covered, but the dominant actix style is the
builder API — web::resource("/path").route(web::get().to(handler)),
web::resource("/").to(handler) (all methods), and App .route("/path",
web::get().to(handler)). The handler is in .to(handler), not get(handler),
so the Axum .route scan extracted nothing — actix-examples had 80
web::resource calls all unlinked.

Add an actix block: scan each web::resource("/path") (bounding its method
chain at the next resource) for web::METHOD().to(h) pairs, fall back to a
direct .to(h) (method ANY), plus the App-level .route("/x",
web::METHOD().to(h)) form. actix-examples 51→128 routes, 35→112 resolved
(GET /user/{name}→with_param, POST /user→add_user). No regression on Axum
(realworld-axum still 19/19). Tests: resource+route, resource direct .to,
App-level route. Suite green (797).

Frontier: web::scope("/api") prefixes not prepended; anonymous .to(|req|…)
closures have no named target.

* feat(extraction): Flutter setState→build synthesis + Dart method body ranges

Two changes that connect Flutter's reactive dispatch:

- Dart method ranges (foundational): Dart models a method body as a SIBLING
  of the method_signature node, so every Dart method node had endLine ==
  startLine (signature only) — body-level analysis (callees, context slices,
  the synthesizer's body scan) saw only `void f() {`. Extend endLine to the
  resolved body in the shared createNode, guarded to only ever extend
  (child-body grammars are a no-op; controls excalidraw 9,290 / django 302
  unchanged).
- Flutter setState→build synthesizer channel (the Dart analog of react-render):
  for each Dart class with a `build` method, link sibling methods whose body
  calls setState( → build. setState re-runs build (Flutter-internal, no static
  edge), so "tap → handler → setState → rebuilt UI" dead-ended at setState.

counter initState→build, books build→BookDetail/BookForm. Widget composition
needs no synthesis — Dart widgets are explicit constructor calls, already
static (compass_app build→ErrorIndicator/HomeButton). Tests: Dart method
spans its body; Flutter handler→build synthesis end-to-end. Suite green (798).

route-as-widget navigation.

* feat(resolution): Spring Boot Kotlin routing (.kt + fun handlers)

Kotlin had zero framework coverage — no resolver listed kotlin, and the
Spring resolver was languages:['java'] with a .java-only extract gate and a
Java-syntax handler regex (public X name()). Spring Boot Kotlin apps (same
@GetMapping/@RestController annotations, .kt files) extracted 0 routes.

Extend the Spring resolver: languages ['java','kotlin'], accept .kt, and add
a Kotlin `fun name(` alternative to the handler-method regex (Kotlin has no
access modifier; the return type follows the name). Also allow Kotlin class
modifiers (open/data/sealed) in the class @RequestMapping-prefix detection,
and tag route/ref language per file.

spring-petclinic-kotlin 0→18 routes, 18/18 resolved; class @RequestMapping
prefixes join, stacked annotations skipped, DI controller→repo resolves
(showOwner ← GET /owners/{ownerId} → OwnerRepository.findById). Java Spring
unchanged (realworld 19/19 — the Kotlin fun and Java public-X alternatives
are disjoint per language). Jetpack Compose composition already works
(@Composable→child are plain function calls). Tests: Kotlin @GetMapping+fun,
class-prefix + stacked annotation. Suite green (800).

(telescope.nvim 220 imports + 335 cross-file calls; traces end-to-end). The
matrix's assumed "callback synthesizer" hole isn't real — event-callback
registration (keymap/autocmd/:Connect) is predominantly inline anonymous
closures (corpus ~12 inline vs ~2 named), too rare to synthesize. A/B: 0
read/0 grep with codegraph vs 1 read without. No code change; validated.

* feat(resolution): Play Framework conf/routes → controller routing (Scala/Java)

Play declares routes in an extensionless conf/routes file (GET /computers
controllers.Application.list(p: Int ?= 0)) the file walk never indexed
(isSourceFile requires an extension), so Play apps had 0 route nodes.

- grammars.ts: add isPlayRoutesFile (conf/routes + *.routes), opt it into
  isSourceFile, and map it to the no-grammar (yaml-style) path in
  detectLanguage so the framework resolver extracts it. Narrow match — only
  ADDS Play routes files, never affects other indexing.
- play.ts: a Play resolver — detect (build.sbt/conf), extract (parse each
  METHOD /path Controller.action(args) line, drop package + args), resolve
  (Controller.action → the action method in that controller class),
  claimsReference for the dotted Controller.action handler.

computer-database 0→8 routes, 7/8 resolved (the 1 unresolved is
controllers.Assets.versioned — Play's framework controller, external);
starter 0→4 (3/4). Flow connects request→route→controller→DAO. No-regression
(excalidraw 9,290 / suite unchanged). Tests: routes parse + `->` include
skipped, conf/routes file detection.

* feat(extraction): C++ inheritance (base_class_clause) + virtual-override synthesis

C/C++ direct dispatch already resolves well (redis 29k / leveldb 1.4k
cross-file calls). Two changes close the C++ virtual-dispatch gap:

- extractInheritance handled base_clause (PHP) but not C++'s
  base_class_clause, so C++ `extends` edges were missing/partial. Add the
  C++ branch (emit an extends ref per base type, skipping access
  specifiers) — leveldb extends 219→298.
- cpp-override synthesizer channel (the C++ analog of react-render): for
  each extends edge, link each base method → the subclass override of the
  same name, so trace/callees from a virtual/interface method reach the
  implementation. Gated to C++, capped per class. leveldb 12 precise edges
  (Iterator::Next/Seek/Prev → MergingIterator), 0 on C (redis) and TS
  (excalidraw). Test: base virtual → subclass override bridge.

Frontier: C callback structs (cmd->proc() → 422-way fan-out, too noisy)
and C++ pure-virtual base methods (declarations aren't nodes, so those
overrides can't bridge). Suite green (804).

* feat(resolution): React Router object data-router + Next.js route precision

- Object data-router (v6.4+): createBrowserRouter([{ path, element: <Comp/> }])
  / { path, Component: Comp } — extract route + component (gated to files using
  the data-router API; requires a component so a stray `path:` field isn't a route).
- Next.js precision: filePathToRoute treated config files (next.config.mjs,
  vite.config.ts) and a `nextjs-pages/` dir (substring of "pages/") as routes.
  Require a real page extension (.tsx/.ts/.jsx/.js), exclude *.config.* and
  _app/_document, and match pages/ + app/ as path SEGMENTS. bulletproof-react
  4 bogus config "routes" → 0.

Frontier: lazy data-router routes (path: paths.x.path + lazy: () => import())
use variable paths + lazily-imported modules — no literal path/named component.
Tests: object-router literal form, config/nextjs-pages exclusion. Suite 806.

* feat(resolution): Flask-RESTful add_resource + tuple methods + broader detection

Three Flask gaps closed (redash Flask-RESTful 6→77 py routes; flask-realworld 0→19):
- Flask-RESTful: api.add_resource(ResourceClass, '/path') (+ redash's
  add_org_resource) now extracts a route per path referencing the Resource
  class, whose get/post verb methods resolve as the handlers.
- Tuple methods: @x.route('/p', methods=('POST',)) — the method regex only
  accepted a list [...]; now accepts a tuple (...) too, so POST/DELETE routes
  aren't mislabeled GET.
- Detection: detect() only checked root app.py for the literal Flask(__name__);
  broadened to requirements/pyproject/Pipfile/setup.py + any entrypoint file
  (root or subdir, e.g. conduit/app.py) that imports flask and instantiates
  Flask(...). flask-realworld (subdir app-factory) 0→19; django not falsely
  detected.

Tests: tuple methods, add_resource. Suite green (808).

hard/low-precision ones (C callback fan-out, metaprogramming finders, reactive

* docs(benchmarks): A/B with/without codegraph across every language (S/M/L)

37-cell matrix (every flow-relevant language × small/medium/large indexed
repos): a headless agent answers one canonical flow question per repo, with the
codegraph MCP vs without any MCP. Fresh re-index per cell so the with-arm
reflects current resolvers.

Result: 75% fewer file reads with codegraph (40 vs 158 across cells), ~70%
fewer greps, never more reads in any cell. Biggest wins on medium/large
backends (excalidraw 0R vs 9R, spring-halo 0R vs 9R+8 Bash, jellyfin 4R vs 13R+
21 Bash + a spawned sub-agent); tie zone on tiny repos where the flow fits in
1-2 files.

* feat(mcp): self-sufficient codegraph_trace + CODEGRAPH_MCP_TOOLS allowlist

codegraph_trace now returns a complete flow dossier in one call: each hop with its full body inlined (not just the call-site line), plus the destination's own outgoing calls — the last mile agents otherwise explore/Read to get. Validated by A/B (arm I, 6 repos x 2): >= baseline on reads/turns/cost with no wall-clock regression, because one richer trace call displaces the explore+node+Read follow-ups. Sufficiency, not steering: complete context is what stops further investigation.

Also adds CODEGRAPH_MCP_TOOLS, an optional comma-separated allowlist that trims the exposed MCP tool surface (inert when unset); used to run the tool-ablation experiment cleanly, and useful for constraining an agent to a minimal surface.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(benchmarks): call-sequence + tool-ablation analysis; agent-eval arms harness

Records why codegraph read savings (-75%) under-convert to wall-clock (-16%): the bottleneck is round-trips + the synthesis turn, not reads. Ablation (arms A-I) shows explore is 68% of payload but load-bearing, trace is path-scoped but under-adopted, instruction/description steering cannot match an append-prompt's salience (and regresses), and the shippable win is making the trace output sufficient (arm I). Adds harness: seq-matrix, run-arms/arms-*, parse-arms.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(mcp): line-number codegraph_node + codegraph_trace source output

node's code block and trace's inlined hop/destination bodies now carry cat -n line numbers (reusing numberSourceLines, matching codegraph_explore and Read), so the agent can cite or edit exact lines without re-Reading the file just to get them. Consistency across the code-returning tools + edit-workflow sufficiency.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(resolution): Java/Kotlin interface & abstract dispatch synthesis

A call through an injected interface (Spring @Autowired svc.list()) or an abstract base dead-ended at the interface method — no static edge to the implementation — so request->service->impl flows broke at the DI boundary. Adds interfaceOverrideEdges: for each class implementing an interface (or extending an abstract base), synthesize interface/base-method -> same-name override 'calls' edges (JVM-gated, capped per class, overload-aware), with an 'interface-impl' trace label. trace + callees now follow the flow into the implementation.

Validated on spring-mall: 310 synth edges, node count unchanged (edges only); trace(PmsProductController.getList, PmsProductServiceImpl.list) connects in 3 hops (controller -> service interface -> impl) where it previously dead-ended at the interface.

* docs(playbook): record Java/Kotlin interface-DI synthesizer (probe-validated; agent A/B adoption-gated)

* feat(mcp): codegraph_explore surfaces the execution flow from its named symbols

Agents call explore far more than trace and pass a bag of symbol names that spans the flow they're after. explore now resolves those names and surfaces the longest call path AMONG them — riding synthesized dynamic-dispatch edges (callback/react-render/jsx/interface-impl) — leading the output with it, so a flow question answered via explore gets the trace-quality path without switching tools.

Precision: ambiguous tokens disambiguated by CO-NAMING (keep candidates whose qualifiedName SEGMENT matches another named token, so 'list' resolves to PmsProductServiceImpl::list not OmsOrderService::list); BFS anchored at named symbols on both ends with <=1 consecutive unnamed bridge (crosses a missing intermediate, never wanders a god-function's fan-out). Validated by probe: spring-mall getList->service-interface->impl (3 hops); excalidraw mutateElement->triggerUpdate->[callback]->triggerRender->[react-render]->render->[jsx]->StaticCanvas (full re-render chain). No flow section on fuzzy queries (safe). Suite green.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(mcp): explore-flow resolves qualified Class.method query tokens

The agent often passes fully-qualified names to explore (PostEndpoint.publishPost, PmsProductServiceImpl.list) — its most precise input. The tokenizer's file-extension strip mangled Class.method into Class (treating .method as an extension), then the identifier filter dropped anything with a dot, throwing the method away. Now strips only REAL file extensions and keeps qualified tokens, which findAllSymbols resolves exactly; disambiguates ambiguous SIMPLE names by whether their container class is also named (segment match). Validated: 'PmsProductController.getList PmsProductServiceImpl.list' now surfaces getList->interface->impl. (spring-halo's publish flow stays absent — it's reactive/reconciler dispatch with no static edges, a coverage frontier, not an explore-flow gap.)

* docs(claude): record the 'adapt the tool to the agent' retrieval principle

The lever that decides whether a retrieval change lands: make a tool the agent already calls do more with the input it already gives; changes that need the agent to behave differently (different tool, query, examples) hit codegraph's low-salience channels and don't land. Captures the validated evidence (sufficiency + explore-flow pass; steering + new-tools + context-fuzzy-flow fail) and points coverage as the remaining lever.

* docs: correct 'cost stays flat' → neutral-to-lower (excalidraw with/without A/B)

Fresh with-vs-without A/B on excalidraw (current build, n=3): 3x faster (49s vs 145s), 15x fewer tool calls, ~0 vs 23 reads, and -40% cost ($0.41 vs $0.68). Cost is neutral-to-lower, not flat — compact codegraph answers cache across turns while the without-arm's read/grep thrash is fresh, poorly-cacheable input. Recorded in call-sequence-analysis.md; corrected the CLAUDE.md optimization-target note (still: don't optimize for cost; target wall-clock + tool-call count).

* docs(benchmarks): current-build A/B on all 7 README repos + fix token-measurement bug

Re-ran the README benchmark on the current build (7 repos reindexed, median of 4): avg 35% cost / 57% tokens / 46% time / 71% tool calls saved — reproduces the published README (35/59/49/70), no regression. Adds bench-readme.sh + parse-bench-readme.mjs harness.

Fixes a token-measurement bug: result.usage is last-turn-only in current Claude Code; must sum per-turn assistant usage for cumulative tokens. Corrects the earlier excalidraw note (its '-34% tokens' was off this bug; real ~90%) and the cost MECHANISM (volume/fewer-turns, not cache-ability — the without-arm's huge token volume is mostly cheap cache-reads, so token savings 57% > cost savings 35%). Cost/time were always correct.
