Shiju a72351d370 fix(policy)!: require explicit L7 append targets and scope (#3380)
Make allow and deny appends identify a rule and endpoint and declare every
affected binary and port. Reject incomplete, stale, ambiguous, and provider
targets atomically so a small append cannot silently change a broader scope.

Update CLI previews, wire requests, Go types and generated bindings, SDK
regressions, operator documentation, and live policy-update coverage.

BREAKING CHANGE: AddAllowRules and AddDenyRules require L7RuleTarget instead
of host and port. CLI appends require a rule name and explicit binary scope.

Mrunal Patel c502be9fd7 feat(api): return typed deletion outcomes with explicit missing-target semantics (#3317)
* feat(api): return typed deletion outcomes with explicit missing-target semantics

Implement phase 2 of #3051 across the public gateway API and first-party SDKs. Preserve asynchronous sandbox deletion and observed resource identities, reserve legacy wire fields, and document the coordinated migration.

Signed-off-by: Mrunal Patel <mrunalp@gmail.com>

* fix(sdk): bind deletion waits to sandbox identity

Track accepted deletions by original sandbox identity in Rust and TypeScript. Preserve name-only waits and cover replacement races and lookup failures.

Merge the phase-one cleanup fix and adapt its interceptor regressions to typed deletion outcomes.

Refs #3051.

Signed-off-by: Mrunal Patel <mrunalp@gmail.com>

* test(e2e): accept asynchronous stopped sandbox deletion

Allow either completed or accepted deletion output, then continue polling for actual sandbox absence. This preserves the lifecycle assertion under the phase-two deletion contract.

Mrunal Patel 39cf4823f7 feat(api): add structured gateway errors and SDK decoding (#3313)
* feat(api): expose structured gateway errors across SDKs

Refs #3051. Add standard validation, conflict, and retry details; preserve raw transport status in Rust, Go, TypeScript, and Python; document status and recovery guidance.

This is the structured-error foundation only. Mutation result shapes, allow_missing, durable request deduplication, and exec retry semantics remain follow-up work.

Signed-off-by: Mrunal Patel <mrunalp@gmail.com>

* fix(python): preserve wrapped RPC cleanup handling

Inspect the original gRPC call when handling missing sandboxes during deletion waits and managed cleanup. Add intercepted cleanup regressions and clarify the error-wrapper migration contract.

Addresses the cleanup review on #3313; part of #3051.

Shiju fd3fd9cf74 feat(sandbox): explain failed calls to external tool servers (#3207)
Show configured tool server addresses and their last observed connection
results together in sandbox status. Keep sandbox lifecycle readiness
separate so an external connection failure does not mark the sandbox unready.

Expose direct endpoint records through the CLI and SDKs, with plain-language
failure explanations and gateway acceptance times. Keep observation tracking,
runtime reporting, and gateway validation in dedicated endpoint status modules.

Preserve bounded reporting, request attribution, retry ordering, and
configuration and supervisor authority checks. Clear obsolete observations
while retaining the configured addresses, and document the distinction
between an observed HTTP response, current availability, and tool success.

* refactor(inference): remove managed inference routes

Closes #3172

Roland Huss e87d2f61fb refactor(sdk/go): unify functional-option handling with shared applier (#3232)
Introduce a single generic applier, options.Apply[T any, O ~func(*T)],
in a new leaf package openshell/v1/internal/options, and route all
option-application sites through it. Nil option entries are now ignored
uniformly instead of panicking; non-nil options still apply in order,
and each site keeps its existing pre-seeding and defaulting.

- Add internal/options package with Apply and unit tests
- Route the 15 application sites (root, types, oidc, fake, gateway, edge)
through options.Apply; exported types.Apply*Options keep their
  signatures and delegate to it
- Add one nil-handling test per affected package
- Document the nil-option rule in README.md and the docs book

No public API signature changes.

Roland HussandDrew Newberry 8dc55e21ee feat(sdk/go): complete Go SDK with domain clients, auth, and hardening (#2702)
* feat(sdk/go): complete Go SDK with domain clients, auth, and hardening

Add the Go SDK implementation covering all gateway RPC services with
domain-typed clients, comprehensive OIDC authentication flows, fake
test doubles, and proto converters.

Domain clients: Sandbox, Provider, Exec, File, TCP, SSH, Policy,
Profile, Health, Service, Config, Workspace, Inference, Refresh.
Each client validates inputs, resolves sandboxes by name, and converts
between domain types and proto at the boundary.

Auth: OIDC authorization code (PKCE), device code (RFC 8628), and
client credentials (RFC 6749 Section 4.4) flows with gateway config
auto-resolution. Token refresh with singleflight deduplication and
exponential backoff. Edge tunnel proxy for gRPC-over-WebSocket.

Gateway: On-disk gateway discovery with user/system directory
precedence, lazy token loading, and auth mode mapping.

Testing: In-memory fake client with deep-copy isolation, watch
broadcasting with filtering, and workspace-scoped object stores.
Bufconn-based gRPC tests for all domain clients.

* feat(sdk/go): add gateway client options for logger, timeout, and retry

Add WithLogger, WithTimeout, and WithRetryPolicy options to the gateway
package's NewClient function. These forward the corresponding Config
fields (Logger, Timeout, RetryPolicy) through to the underlying SDK
client, giving callers full control over observability, connection
timeouts, and retry behavior when constructing clients from on-disk
gateway configurations.

Also adds RetryPolicy type to types package and extends Config with the
three new fields.
